How does the standby/sleep suppport work in 2.1?

How does the standby/sleep suppport work in 2.1?

I installed 2.1 and ran it as a service (probably not needed). I put it to sleep and woke it up, an error about the service having to be restarted popped up. Is standby or hibernate still a bad idea with Sage or is it working now? Should I disable the service mode and try again?

I think the last time I tried standby mode the wireless network card would lose it's IP, but maybe something in the Window's update have fixed it.
