PVR250 Tuner disappearing from Sage after every reboot
Hello,
I have been trying to use SageTV 2.1 but I'm having problems with it keeping hold of my PVR 250. I use the hwclear.exe, reboot and do a clean install of the latest drivers for the card. SageTV recognizes it and I get her all setup. The if I have to reboot, it completely loses the card and it won't show up until I shut down Sage, disable the card, re-enable the card and restart Sage. This is quite annoying and I don't plan on doing this everytime I need to reboot. Anyone know what's going on with this? I'm currently using Meedio for my front end, Windows XP Pro SP2 for my OS and have the latest drivers for the PVR-250 installed from Hauppauge. |

try exiting SageTV before rebooting and if you have to do this again
disable SageTV from starting with boot up and then do not start it until the card is fully installed you may even want to uninstall SageTV delete the Frey folder and then reinstall everything starting with the drivers for the card, and finishing by reinstalling SageTV fresh and use the newest inf from hauppauge.com/support |

I have all the latest drivers installed and did not have this problem until I installed SageTV 2.1. Also, I should be able to use SageTV's startup and bootup function and not worry about it working. |

I had this problem before too. But it only happens when running Sage as a service. I think someone wroe a script to delay Sage startup, but I can't seem to find the thread. If you startup with Sage running as just a service then check this out

Maybe found a fix, my 350 was doing this too. Delete the files in the windows/precache folder. I also did one better and disabled precache in the registry.

I was having a similar problem with a missing 250 (I have both a 250 and a 150 installed). After clearing the windows/precache folder, they were both detected after rebooting.
