How to control cable box with TapeItAll & TuneItAll
Hello,
I have a system set up by TapeItAll last year, with Sage TV using TuneItAll software (which Mike Brown designed) to control my tv sources - in this case, two satellite dish systems. However, I just recently added a Motorola digital cable box to the mix, but cannot figure out how to program the IR blaster to control the receiver. I realize there might not be a ton of TapeItAll users out there, but am hopeful there are enough who can guide me in the right direction here. I've been all through the Sage manual but it's steps don't match up with what is programmed on this system, especially since TuneItAll seems to have control over the tuning of external receivers. Any help/ideas anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! I'm using a Smarthome IRLink blaster, which is somehow programmed to be recognized as Directv Serial Control when setting up a source in Sage. -Chris |

Chris, try over at Satellite Forums (http://www.satforums.com/) in the Satellite Projects Forum. There is a TapeItAll section and some other TapeItAll user may have done what you are trying to do. You may also try: tapeitall@yahoogroups.com because that forum on satforums.com is not too active. My feeling is you have to look at your TapeItAll system as just another computer and take it from there. In other words, find out how your cable box is handled by regular computer users.

I have tried to contact Mike, but he has not returned any of my messages or emails in the past month.
