SAP Audio playing when not enabled
Ok this is not really a Sage issue, but is a TV issue.
Last week when my SageTV box recorded the CSI on CBS the first ~30 minutes of the show had the voice overlay that is only suppose to be heard if you have SAP audio enabled on your TV/cable box. Well I confirmed that I do NOT have SAP enabled on my cablebox, and when the SAP audio stop halfway through the recorded show I assumed it was a network/cable company glitch. Well just finished watching last nights CSI and this time the entire CSI was ruined by the voice overlay of SAP audio! Again confirmed that SAP was NOT enabled on my cablebox and I do NOT use the TV for audio. Weird thing is the is the only show that I have ever had this happen on. Do you guys think it is a network/cable company screw up? If so, how should I complain? Could it be something else? I want to check if any other shows on CBS Primetime have this issue, the only other CBS show I watch regularly is CSI: Miami, and that has not had the issue yet. |

Well playing some more with my STBs I noticed that it appears that one of them "might" have SAP audio enabled
I have 2 STB, both are SA 2200. One shows when you go to settings "SAP Enable" which I take it to mean it is not enabled since select it, it turns to "SAP Disable" The other one is the one that I think is enabled. However when I go to the same menu setting my choice is different "Choose SAP Language: English" and select this does nothing. Odd that I do not have anywhere in the menu system to disable SAP. Now I also noticed on this box that Parental Controls are enabled, I never enabled them and do not know the code. Maybe that is preventing me from disabling the SAP. Anyone know how to RESET these boxes to disable PARENTAL CONTROL? Thanks |
