Using the overlay I get silky smooth playback (writing this I realise that I haven’t checked the vsync switch in the graphics card drivers – I will this evening).
Makes no difference whether I force vsync on/off or application preference in the nvidia drivers. still the same stutter-dropped frame combo. Overlay is working well.

OT: if anyone wants to replace their noisy 6600GT stock cooler the Zalman VF700 AlCu is silent at 5 volts and cools fine.

I just ran into this same problem this evening after I installed FFDSHOW (which uses DSCALER to deinterlace and the nVidia Decoder for the rest of the gambit) and I get a studder about every 3 seconds. I'm on an:

AMD64 2800+
WINXP Pro SP2
Radeon 9550
512 MB Ram
Hauppaugge PCR-150
nVidia 1.00.67
ffdshow-20040801a_preview_SSE2
Dscaler 4.1.8

I used to be plagued with all of these issues and the only thing that fixed all of my problems was to put all my sage guts in another PC. I don't know where the hardware issue originated from in my old pc... I guess I would have to say it was the motherboard because I am using all of the same components in another PC without problems.

As indicated in my sig, I am using 2.2.7 using Nvidia Decoder recording at GREAT quality. I am still using MLBDUDE2 STV with Nielm's webserver plugin and nothing else.
