no EPG in the trial?
I am interested in purchasing SageTV/Recorder to replace my unusable SnapStream 3 (My wife doesn't like the EPG).
I downloaded the trial and installed it. I am trying to get it to work but I can't seem to populate the EPG. Is this not included in the trial? I have a Satellite system that I am trying to control via the serial-port. I can do everything fine with SnapStream...but with the Sage trial I can't even see the EPG. Any help would be appreciated... Thank You. <>< mykul

The EPG data service is included in the trial.
Main question: Did the SageTV setup wizard find a provider for your listings after you entered in your zip code? Side issues:Also not to insult you, but were you connected to the net when you set SageTV up? Do you have a firewall or router that could be blocking SageTV? I'm just another user like you, but I'll help if I can. I know it can be annoying to wait. Also I wouldn't be suprised if one of the official Frey people cathes this post soon, and they have been through all this before. Edit: Sorry got to go for now, I'll check back later today if I can. justme, that covers most of the instances of it.
The others are covered by deleting the Sage.properties, Wiz.bin and Wiz.bak files and then starting SageTV and going through the Setup Wizard again. Sometimes during initial config when users are playing around with a lot of options SageTV gets confused somehow and going through the setup cleanly will resolve it. Let us know how it goes.

Also, make sure your system date and time is set correctly. When I installed the trial, my system date was a month off. This left my EPG with NO DATA in all time slots. Once setting my date back, caused a security check of the software to no longer run. I was assured by Jeff that my EPG would work so I purchased the software. All was fine! Good luck.
