yea, that's all that showed up. BUT---i am in the process of moving into a new house and won't be able to look into this any further for about a week and a half or so. I plan on purchasing VRD so hopefully that will solve my problems. I will update when I can.
thanks for all your help

dumb question I'm sure but...

With ver 1.1 and a trial key for VidRedo I was finally able to burn a DVD. Now a few days later I get the "DVD Burner Freeware restrictions: no compression, only 2 files can be burned" etc. and I get all kinds of VB errors in an OK box after that. It's not VidRedo because that trial key has over 2 weeks left on it. Is it DVD decryptor, or something else? What is it I need to register?

It failed on muxing the audio and video back together. This usually occurs when the video is out of spec. You can run the last "CLI" (command line interface) program yourself and get the full output from the program. Upload that here if you don't understand it.

mplex.exe -f 8 -o "D:\temp\working\title1-0.vob" "D:\temp\working\title1-0.mpv" "D:\temp\working\title1-0.mpa"

Carlo, same here. Version 1.1 seems to have TRIAL expired on our PCs.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Vacation, "I WISH!".

I had a RAID failure on a large system. Two days into the restore, one of the tape drives went bad! Restore failure. Got tape drive replaces (took 3 days), and then 3 days to restore system.

Got system operational again, but then SageTV was acting funny. Spent better part of a day getting this running again. I've now got this all setup and working again.

Yesterday afternoon, my test machine I'm doing a lot of dev work on decided to crap out after updating to XP SP2. Now I get to rebuild this machine.

I'll be getting caught up in the forums over the weekend.

I just installed DVDBurner 1.1 and am ready to try burning a show. I looked at the prelim Cayars STV guide and am stuck at how to create a DVD List and add a show to it. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problems as others regarding the mpa files being unrecognizable by mplex. It seems as though it works fine for me using mpgtx as a demuxer.

Problem is, that mpgtx has a problem with a particular show. So I downloaded the demo of VDR and switched the setting. Now I still get the error, except with ALL shows. Turns out DVDburner isn't creating an mpa file at all using Video ReDo.

I feel this might be a new development...

OK, if I manually run VRD on the problem file, it creates the propper mpa, and mpv files that I'm now using muxman to rejoin. I'm then going to use dvdauthor to make the iso, and burn it manually.

I feel something might have changed with the vp.vbs script to where it's only creating the video file with the current implementation. I just downloaded VRD today (version 1.6.2.284)

You need the beta version of VRD that's found in the user's forum (I think I'm using 1.7.0.302). Carlo's DVDburner won't work with the latest production version of VRD -- the beta version is required.

If it makes you feel any better:
  • I wasted an afternoon trying to get VRD to work too, before posting and getting the same response from Carlo.
  • I had searched beforehand and couldn't find anything.
  • I searched again today so that I could reference the post where it was mentioned, but I still couldn't find it, so I just went from memory.
  • I have now searched again, determined to find the reference (no reason, other than OCD). Look at posts 1609, 1700, and 1702 in the Cayars STV thread. Easy to miss.

Please see Figure 12 of the prelim guide - if that doesn't help I'll fill in more

Edit: also see Figures 65 & 66 once you've added an item to the list. I also added a Q&A to v1.1 of the documentation, just released.

Sorry, I have not been keeping up with this thread very well, but I have sucessfully burned a few DVD-R disks that seem to play fine on my SAGE PC but will not play in my Sony DVD/VCR unit. I know that the unit plays DVD-Rs but I am not sure why it will not play the one's burned with the Cayars DVD burner.

Anyone having any luck getting the burned DVDs to play in a standard DVD player?

Does you DVD Player, play DVD with MPG audio or does it require AC3 audio?
