The new OSD looks cool but I'm not a fan of giving up half my screen for "pretty, pretty".

Cayars: You're seeing the OSD with everything turned on, including the detailed info below the show title on top. Also, who knows what's going to change between CES & release. - Andy

Opus4 is there any playback improvements
while updating the UI and adding linux support for OEMs we have been asking for good playback for quite awhile for those of us that have HDTVs we need smooth VMR9 playback or SageTV will surely not keep the user base the same and only dissappointed here cause they said specifically that there would be a announcement about fixing VMR9 playback if they would have mentioned this, I would have no reason to be dissappointed that they added Linux support but then again all this oem BS, I hope works out for them otherwise they have wasted not only their own time but ours |

Just wanted to say that HD support could be comming now that the Broadcast Driver Architecture (BDA) Device filters drivers are now comming out for hdtv tuners. Before they came along nobody else could really get hd cards to work and since the BDA Code is ms's it's no surprise mce is the first to have working hdtv. Other pvr's are now working on getting the new bda supported cards to work in their software like beyond and Gam (Got all media). But they are still having some buggy results though for the most part they are getting the channels to record and playback. Most of the problems from what i have seen with Gam that their having is with finding the channels and changing channels and some failed recordings. The main issue with channel changes are to do with the subchannels and since the cards don't actually do any encoding hardware encoding needs to be disabled for the cards or it causes crashes.
So now that freys has gotten it's big project out hopefully they can start working on hdtv support and get a jump over some of the problems others have had by looking at their posted problems and how they were solved so they and we can avoid the extra headaches hehe. That plus the new gui and osd for 3.0 would be really cool i can hardly wait. See my post in this thread for more info http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ead.php?t=9241

There has been no annoucement from Hauppauge regarding a new MVP, so I don't think anyone _really_ knows what it has and when it will be out. (Since there was no announcement, I installed the one I bought recently -- works great, as everyone else has been saying.) As for wireless... if people use wireless networks with SageTV today, I don't see what would prevent that in the future -- I think it would still come down to having a reliable wireless connection and not streaming a recording whose bit rate exceeds the wireless connection speed.
