let us know when you have the driver inf updated for the Moto's please. I'd like to try it this way.
Thanks

edit-nevermind, I see it's already in there. Do I need the nvidia drivers for this to work? What is it I'm looking for if I do? The DVD software from their website?

Two quick questions:

Have you already included the ID for the 6200?
I got: MOTOROLA&DCT-6200&TYP_5&ID_0

Also what does a TYP9 do? One of these also showed up, I think it's a 'panel' but I don't know what that means.

I PM'd you. Get back to me.

sleonard:
Page 19 will show you if it's encrypted or not. Upper left corner. You want to see the "free". Information is displayed by channel. You can change channel while the diagnostic is up. The screen takes a few seconds to refresh so don't be too hasty.

Naylia:
The INF is now updated for three (3) Motos: 6200, 6208 and 6412 (#'s off the top my head). Post #74

Yes, TYP_9 is the AV/C "Control Panel". Unfortunately, no driver for that. After installing the driver, you will need to disable the "Control Panel" as well as two "Unknowns" under "Device Manager\Other devices" to prevent them from continuing to prompt for driver installation. Actually, you can disable those at any time. "Tuner" is the only driver we are installing for.

Go here to Post #12 and duplicate the graph you see in the attached JPEG. "Save as" when done and give any name such as TStoPS.GRF. Save graph in same folder as SGR. Make sure "SGraphRecorder.ini" has the correct graph name that you saved in the SGR folder.

ok, that looks different than the first one you had back on page #2. I don't have Cyberlink...but I'll try to find some type of mux.

edit-ahhh, just got your email..let me cook on that. appreciate it!

Yea, the graph you need to make for SGR is in another thread. I've referenced and linked to it in this thread but can be over looked.

ok, got it built exactly like you suggested. I can view HD now. no audio though and it seems to go into fits at times and come to a crawl..then it gets going again. Any idea on the audio? I had audio before on the first graph so I tried to put the nvidia audio in the middle and it wouldn't hook up..so I'm at a loss.

So so so so close it's painful.

jvheitz also got everything going but had no audio. I made a couple of comments (go back one page towards end and review) but just not sure. You can NOT put any other filters in the graph nor do you need to. The audio is remuxed with the video at the Cyberlink Mux and should be present in the recorded stream. I have not had an audio issue so do not know what to advise w/o having the problem. Try a different audio decoder. Hopefully, jvheitz will post back if he found the issue. You seem to be having the identical thing.

When the graph first starts, there is some instability with picture slowing and speeding up (rocking). This should stop after 15 to 30 seconds tops.

After the troops go to bed, I am going to try a Moonlight DeMux and Mux. The Mux has adjustable audio and video buffers. It looks very promising and may do much better at graph startup which is where some trouble seems to be. Perhaps the audio solution is there as well.

What are you using for "TuningDelay" in SGraphRecorder.ini"? Also, you will have problems if you try to change channels by directly controlling the STB. The graph will be running when the stream transition comes through which will cause audio problems if not Sage to hang completly. So far, others have delayed the implementation of Girder channel control but has also been the source of their trouble. The SGR is controlled by Sage and channel changes have to be given to Sage so that Sage can stop / start the graph and change file names to the Dump filter. At the same time, the SGR forwards the channel change info on to Girder so that the STB acutually does change channel and at the appropriate point in time.

PS: I will export and post the Girder GML section I am using with SGR later this evening. You will only need to import it and teach USB-UIRT the Moto 0-9 and "Enter" IR codes. Do you have USB-UIRT?

I had it set to 0 since I wasn't messing with it...I'll start playing with that as well. I can't change channels at all...so I was just using the EPG in Sage to tune into whatever the STB was already on.

OK, I did a test file with graphedit. It plays back ok outside of sage and has audio. It's DD5.1. Just can't get it live in sage...like it's never getting to the decoder..

FWIW, I'm running an ASUS with the Nvidia sounstorm bridge thingy with the spdif out...

Read posts #131 and #133 carefully. Tuning delay is a necessity, especially for the current filters being used. This delay is also in play when everything starts up!

Try "TuningDelay=2750"

And for Sage:
Videoframe/network_encoding to playback delay=4500

PS: I also have Asus A7N8X-Del w/ Soundstorm. I am using analog out, so you are in different territory on this. You may need a compliant 5.1 DD audio decoder. What were you playing it with outside of Sage and what audio decoder was that player using? There IS an answer but we diverge on how we are outputting audio so I don't have the experience to offer.

OK, so I seem to have my audio problem solved...
Changed audio to sage tv mpeg audio decoder, and now I get audio.
I think now would be a good time to get USB-UIRT.. It is a real pain to change channels otherwise.....

After some reading, it appears the AV/C Contol Panel typ_9 is the GUI on screen guide for the 6412 (I-guide). If we could get a driver, that could be the answer to controlling the box via firewire.
Now the fun begins...

cool Jvheitz. Just did the same thing but changed mine to intervideo audio decoder. it won't change channels still...but if the video locks up, i can use the guide to "change" channels. it'll reload the current feed from the FW and tell me it's on that new channel, but it's not.

eg, watching bad boys 2, video gets messed up, change to showhd, there's a pause, bad boys 2 picks back up and sage tells me i'm on showhd. i can change to whatever hd channel i want and it'll reload bad boys 2.

anyway, thanks guys, making progress....

No hip-hip hooray?

I have not been impressed with some of the HD material delivered by CableCo. Looks like some stuff that originated analog at SD def that they just upscaled and digitized. On the other hand, inHD always has stunning material.

PS: I am buying a new USB-UIRT to get "zone" feature which my model lacks. But would be a week before I could part with it. What are you using to control STB now?

HIP HIP HOO-FREAKIN-RAY!!!

on Cox, if you hit the info button and it has the little hdtv symbol, it's in hd. They show a lot of upsampled stuff that looks good still, and some are horrible (Gans of NY).

haha,
I was just testing with bad boys 2 as well. How are you changing channels on the STB?
Right now, I am selecting the channel in sage TV guide, then punching buttons on my remote....

Jvheitz:

More power to you. I have looked for around for something on the Control Panel but have come up empty handed. Please have a whack at it!

Hopefully, I will have a better filter recommend that will smooth things out a bit. Let me know what video cards you are running. I am particularly interested to hear results with 6600GT.

If only i could get my hands on the spec (AV/C 1394 TA document 1999039)
That is the spec for AV/C Panel subunit and deals with the commands that can be issued. I was able to get only basic info from 1394ta.org
