Panasonic D-VHS AV/C Device Scientific-Atlantic Tuner AV/C Device (Explorer 3250HD) Are these the correct two or do I need to change something? |

http://www.thegreenbutton.com/commun...ssageID=104152 Its an installer now, you should install the command line apps and the drivers. If you reinstall using these drivers, both devices should show up as Scientific-Atlantic devices. I would expect a SA Tuner and a SA AV/C Panel. The tuner is for recording and the Panel is for channel change. |

Okay, the audio renderer error is starting to get really annoying. I get abc, nbc, INHD 1, INHD 2, discovery channel, and espn just fine. I do, however, not get tnt, cbs, or fox at all.
When I play the recorded files in theatertek from any of the audio render error channels, i get good video with no audio. Also, all of the channels work just fine when testing in Graphedit per the instructions (hitting play after creating the first graph). Any new ideas on how to make this go away. Also, if anyone wants to save me the trouble of searching, my channel changing over firewire is still fairly hit or miss. I know there is a solution in this thread (read it a couple of days ago), but I forgot where. Thanks, Wad Last edited by wad06; 06-21-2005 at 10:29 PM. |

What cable companies are passing HD over 1394?
Just currious. Those of you receiving HDTV, which cable company do you subscrive to?
I have mediacom and in april, I lost firewire feeds of all HDTV that is not a rebroadcast of OTA, and all digital cable channels. The only channels that come in over firewire are the 2-98 range of analog channels and HDTV from local major broadcasters, NBC, FOX and soon PBS. I dropped the HDTV tier because of this. Is this totally at the whim of the cable provider, or do the program providers have a hand in this as well? |

The problem with the channel changing is with missing numbers. It is not consistent with which numbers it misses (it sometimes misses 1, 7, 8, 3).
I'm using the version that was posted as of three weeks ago. I'm not sure how to check the version number. Thanks for your response, Wad |

channel -v it will display the version number. Older versions defaulted to a 0ms timeout. The latest version defaults to a 50ms timeout. So the latest version will probably fix your problem. The link to the latest is a few posts back. |

I've read through the other posts and it doesn't seem like anyone is having this problem. In GraphEdit I am trying to connect either the nVidia Vidoe decoder to overlay mixer2 and it is bombing out. Same happens with InterVideo. Any thoughts?

I did notice, however, that I had to force it to send the commands to my Motorola 6200 (using -f), otherwise I just got the message that my hardware wasn't supported (can't remember the exact message). What seemed to work best for me was channelw.exe -f -a2 -t100. I guess my system needed more delay, because it would just go to channel "7" instead of "770" or similar, but it would only do this sometimes. Once it messed up once, though, I pretty much had to restart to get it working again. |

I have the exact same problem as you but accidently found a way to make it work.
In your SGraphRecorder.ini file, instead of having; ExeTunerPath="C:\path\channelw.exe 2" put; ExeTunerPath="C:\path\channelw.exe -v 2" First doesn't work, second one does and quite reliably I might add. Cheers, Last edited by travisbell; 06-24-2005 at 10:10 PM. |

Don't get me wrong, it does work, I just have to use the -f flag. Or, actually, doing what travisbell says works, too. It just doesn't work without doing that.
Yeah, the channel changing has been much more reliable since I installed the new version (actually, has been working perfectly). Thanks again, Tim! I still have that dang issue with the digital sound not passing through (gets remuxed into what sounds like 2 channels in 6 speakers), but I am currently pretty stable other than that. It's just not the same with 2-channel sound and 6.1 speakers I'm pretty sure it's an issue with the nForce2 motherboards (or, at least some of them). |

If it says 0 then -f is needed. Can you run channel -v 2 C where C is a valid channel number. I would like to see the output to understand why -f is needed. |

It doesn't do it if I include the "-v", just if I use "channel 2 C". When I use "-v" or "-f", it works fine. When I don't, it says my hardware is not supported.
It didn't do this before, just after installing the new version with the installer. Do you think I should uninstall my devices and reinstall with your installer? Like I said, it's working if I use -f (or -v). Thanks. |

I would use -v rather than -f until I fix it. If you make a mistake and send the command to the firewire tuner it will blue screen. -v will allow it to pass the supported check without forcing the comand to be sent to non supported devices. |
