Is that really the short file name version of the path to ShowTime.exe? Use "dir /x" at a command prompt to see short file names. Also, you don't need to use a short version for a file/dir if there are no spaces -- "ShowTime.exe" is fine.

Edit: and then you post your solution as I'm typing. Sometimes typing out what is happening helps solve the problem.

I've just been staring at it too long.... I had to take a break, which is what I did while posting to you, then as soon as I went back I said "DUH" and felt like Homer Simpson...

Anyways. Thanx for all your help. I would've spend alot of money on a new remote and Girder, plus spent alot of time learning girder and teaching wife the remote. This is easy, cheap and wife-friendly remote.

So again Thanx!

So with this setup are you able to use the TV and computer monitor independently, with full remote control on the TV while full doing regular app stuff on the computer monitor?

Yes, you can use the Hauppauge remote to control SageTV even when it does not have focus -- see the Hauppauge link #3 in my sig lines. You can do the same with other programs that can be controlled via messages or you can send keys via messages (though I haven't tried sending keys that way).

But, if I remember correctly, you have a StreamZap remote, don't you? Unless you really want to change remotes (or also have the Hauppauge remote already), I believe your solution would be to use Girder.

Wow, do any of us sleep

Yes, you are correct, I have the Streamzap remote. The reason I asked is because my PC is more like a workstation, and it is a multitasking beast.. but the whole remote/focus problem made my dual-display setup pretty unusable.

If I can get a setup where I control the "TV" with the remote while doing other things on the computer monitor, then I can start transcoding my collection to .mp4, since I am running out of disk space

Hey Korben,

Just wondering how it was going? Did you get the StreamZap to work with ShowTime? I certainly like the Hauppauge remote as it functions, no extra cost and Opus4 has given me a good idea of what i can do with it. But I am curious what that remote has to offer that you did not see us post about? Especailly with regards to ShowTime.

Also, are you able to hit next and previous chapter in your MP4 files in ShowTime? I can not for some reason and was wondering if anybody else had the same issue. I can use the chapter slider bar, right click video and goto certain chapter, but can not use the remote with these features.
