How about a button for Saving your changes! I make some changes but there's nothing for saving them and if I don't close sage correctly they don't stay. If I minimize and close from the taskbar is different than if I put it to sleep to the system tray and close sage from the right click menu. There needs to be a graceful way to save and/or exit sage from a menu option, even if it is inside advanced settings, that way you know that all of your changes are going to take effect.

How about a "favorites" enhancement?

My blue-sky pie in the sky wish would be for a favorite that could be evaluated using a regular expression , providing some variables andd as much info out of the EPG is available to evaluate. It would be mini script facility almost. Things I'd like to see would be, time-frame (between xx and yy hours), Day/DayofWeek, multiple channel selects, channel exception selects, a "once per day/week/month" setting (for those shows that have just one showid, and are on multiple times per day like Daily Planet). Also I'd like to see some logic around episode titles and numbers -- "above episode #" , below episode #, season # only, season# all except, etc.

I dont know how many people want more flexibility in their favorites, but I will comment that the favorite facility was the final reason I went to Sage instead of Beyond TV. I was using them both, and then I found out that I could not set a favorite any time any channel, and I promptly uninstalled Beyond TV and started using Sage.

Failing that, I would like to see Favorite "once per day / week / month" setting, as well as the ability to choose multiple channels when you choose them in a favorite, and also the ability to choose the exceptions -- what I mean is "NOT Channel 1 - 60"

Ability to change Time Record quality setting at creation time would also be a nice to have.

thx

Cory

I tried to search for this to see if it has come up before but couldn't figure out how to narrow the search terms. Chances are someone has asked for this too, but I figured I'd put my request in as well.

I would like to be able to designate some shows as "keep only one episode saved at a time," or "always overwrite older episodes." This would be great for news shows; I may not watch them every day, but I definately will not watch yesterdays news today or news from two days ago. The most annoying is the BBC World News which can have three or more airings in a day, but I only want to watch the most recent airing. If I'm away for a few days I can have over a dozen news shows and I've got to figure out which is the most recent and then manually delete all the rest to reduce clutter and disk space usage.

thanks,
-lebedev

Edit: Set up a favorite for the show & set its Keep At Most value to the # shows you want & leave auto-delete ON. See the Favorite Details section of the manual. - Opus4

Better Mp3 player

I was wondering if it would be possible to work on a little better interface for the mp3 player, like having a little better playlist option and maybe something a little more appealing with the visualization

Favorite option "always use padding": Some channels on my cable lineup *cough* VH1 *cough* always run shows a full 2 mins late. Unfortuanly back to back favorites will cause the show to be split up. If I set the properties option to not use back to back padding then I get conflicts from shows on channels that don't have timing issues. A favorite option that could easily allow me to compensate for this would be much appriciated.

Thank you for the suggestions; they have all beeen noted by SageTV.

This thread is now being closed and we ask that any future suggestions be sent directly to SageTV, where feature requests are more easily tracked than what the forum discussion format allows.
