My feature request: I would like an option to export/import "Favorites Manager" settings without exiting Sage and backing up the Complete Wiz.bin file. One of the great features of being a Frey Technologies customer is the option to test and provide feedback on Beta software and Custom STV updates. When particpating in these tests you also accept the fact of an increased potential of a software problem, and potential data loss. For me, it would be a lot easier dealing with Wiz.Bin corruption if I could export and import "Favorites Manager" settings.

Bring back STV1.4 feature: recording schedule and livetv schedule on same screen
I posted this as a separate thread last month but I thought I should put it where it belongs, as an "official" feature request.
I'd like to see the old schedule view from stv1.4 brought back... the one where each tuner's recording schedule was listed as a row in the same grid as the livetv guide. It makes it very easy to see what "tradeoffs" STV is making when it decides to record something. Here's the link to my original thread. http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ead.php?t=8187 Thanks! Sleep Timer with TV OFF Control
My feature request is to have a Sleep Timer built into Sage Client that would automatically put Sage Client to Sleep aswell as turn off the TV.
I'm no programmer but considering Sage has the Option to add extra remote codes in the USBUIRT settings, why not add on to just turn off the TV? I hate falling asleep only to find my expensive HDTV on in the morning. PLEASE FREY..... TURN OFF MY TV!!!!

Here are my requests:
1) Slow motion I watch a lot of sports programs. It would be really cool if I could have a feature to slow down the playing speed so i can see a cool dunk, or a touchdown, etc... 2) Winamp Plugin Integration Having the ability to integrate winamp plugins into the media library. visualations during audio playback, etc. 3) Plugin a CD and Auto download cddb info, and lyrics 4) Karaoke - maybe a little bit out there, but oh well... If you can download the lyrics automatically by pluggin in a cd, download the lyrics and playback full screen. |

Better Jukebox Section
I'd love to use Sage as a RealPlayer or MusicMatch replacement (for playback) so i'd like to see in the future some cool and useful features you can get from these players such as:
- Autoplaylist with remix feature - Good visualisation (in my opinion the best ones come out from iTunes) - Portable MP3 player connection (not very important indeed into Sage context) Thanks from Italy Michele |

when i copy a show to a new location i lose all information about that show. i realize there are some workaround for this sort of thing, but it's not good enough. i want 2 buttons- 1 that will export show data to a file and 1 that will import it. you should be able to do an entire group of shows at a time as well.
also, my video library is where i archive sage reorded shows to. but instead of the nice grouping i get in record directories i get 1 big ugly list of file names. perhaps sage should include an archive feature. you could set up an archive directory just as you do for video and music directories. with a click of a button you could "archive" a show which would copy the file to that storage location. you would still end up seeing seinfeld listing which if you scroll over it would list all eps of seinfeld. btw, this could also solve the problem of losing show info when you copy shows to a server for storage. |

Volume level control.
I posted this on another forum, but it is also a feature request, and maybe be seen by a wider audience here.
Many TV's today have a audio level control to keep the sound level. There is nothing more anoying than to come to a comercial and have to lower the volume because it's so loud. Then when the show comes on, you have to raise the volume back so you can hear it. TV's use circuitry in the pre-amp stage to compare the amplitute of the signal being broadcast to what is set. Using comparitors and or attenuator circuits, they auto matically "follow" the audio signal and maintain a constant volume. While we cant do this with sage, we have something that cold work possibly. We have CC and we have COMMERCIAL SKIP. COMM SKIP would be the easiest. anytime that sage senses a commercial, have it automatically lower the volume by a selectible amount. This control would obviously be defeated if you were to use comm skip, as you would never see or hear them, but when you don't, this optionacan be on. The second way, not as "clean" but may work, is to use CC data if there is a way to HOOK to it and sense it. Lots of commercials don't have CC, so the lack of CC data would trigger the same volume reduction idea as in COMM SKIP. The thing about it is, you shouldn't have to have CC running to do this, as CC info is there wheather you see it or not. (as long as it's being transmitted that it.) I'd also like the option to automatically turn on CC when I mute the volume all together.

Narflex or anyone else,
I have a feature request that might allow some level of functionality for use with DTV and HDTV cards. I have figured out how the scheduler works on my HiDTVpro card and I want to write a plugin or some glue-ware that will work with Sage to schedule programs. I would like the ability to setup a "virtual encoder card" that I can use as a target with the scheduler. It could either send over the schedule info upon the addition of a new program when it was scheduled or it could manage the schedule and just launch a external program (Like my Hidtv pro recorder app). I know how to write the software layer for the first scenerio for the hidtvpro, as I would just have some middleware that would setup the registry and the hidtvpro scheduler would handle starting the recording (have this running anyway). The second scenerio would require some more research, as I could hopefully launch the hidtvpro app with some commandline arguments to get it to do what I want, or launch it and send it some win messages. I might be able to reverse engineer the recorder app, as it has some sort of scheme right now that the scheduler/helper app allows it to record in the background. I would appreciate this very much, and would like to contriibute to the Sage community as I use a lot of the other add-ons that other users have written. I might be able to write some middleware for other cards, but I only own the HiDTV pro, myself. BTW, the HiDTVpro scheduler is pretty weak, and I dont think digital stream is going to do much for their US users anytime soon, as they wont answer my emails, and they continue to update the korean software regularly and dont touch the english version. This might be a way to run the korean stuff without needing to use the interface much. thank you much. |

I'd like to see an option to make SageTV set itself topmost in the z order when it's fullscreen and not when it's windowed. When SageTV is fullscreen I want it to have the focus and be on top. The rest of the time I want it to behave like a regular window. Not currently possible I think.

1. option to choose which audio device the volume control uses, instead of it just controling the system's primary sound device.
2. option in conflict resolution screen to solve issue where same show is on two or more channels at once. something like "always have xfiles on TBS override xfiles on scifi" etc. 3. persistant progress bar. ie: when a show ends and the next begins i want to be able to skip backwards in the timeline even into the previously viewed title. 4. remote command for "restart media player" 5. option to remove a channel fronm the recorders list but still have the option of watching it live |

Allow Timeslot specification for Favorites...
MTV's The Real World seems to always show every episode as "Reality - First Run" which causes even repeats to be taped because they are marked as First Run. I realize this is not your problem, it is MTV's episode guide's problem.
However, a useful feature to counteract this would be a timeslot option in Favorites. (Therefore I could set it to only tape this favorite at this certain time or times). This would stop SageTV from recording the 20 other airings of the show during the week. Perhaps the "Timed Recording" option essentially is this, a favorite, with a timeslot, or perhaps a Favorite with a Timeslot is slightly more intelligent because it wouldnt blindly tape that timeslot, it would only tape if that favorite was being aired. Just an idea. Rob [Edit: Some custom STVs have the timeslot feature for Favorites; it just isn't in the default STV currently. - Opus4] |

Prioritized Favorites
It would be nice to have prioritized favorites.
I am thinking something like the prioritization utilized in Franklin-Covey planners. i.e. A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3, etc. That way all As overide Bs, Cs, etc. It would also be nice to have the option to have all conflicts that involve a certain group, like Cs would not be displayed. What I am looking at is As would be my absolute favorite, must records. Bs would be other favorites, nice to have but wont cry if I dont get them, Cs being my favorite Reruns, and Ds being other stuff. Etc. so on and so forth. [Edit: Favorites are prioritized according to their position in the list of Favorites. - Opus4] |

Favorites with Original air date
I have no idea if this has been mentioned or not... but it would be nice to have the ability to record a favorite with an original air date within a specific date range.
For example... I used to watch show X that is now in season 5, but I missed season 3. So, I would like to record all the new shows as well the shows aired from 08/2003 to 05/2004. Or maybe just all shows aired after 08/2003... Another example: Show X2 has two versions. Version 1 was 3 seasons long and was originally aired 10 years ago. Version 2 is currently in the middle of season 2 but I missed the first season and some of the second. Both of the versions are playing including reruns of version 2. Now, I was never a fan of version 1, because frankly it sucked and recording it would cause me much undue disgruntlement... Anyhow you get the picture. Of course if this was already mentioned please disregard, otherwise I think this would be a great addition!! Thanks in advance |

Also, the conflict resolution screen is cluttered by all the favorites that it could not place, thus the reason for asking for the option to have some conflicts ignored. |

Feature Request:
Sorry if this is a dupe. In MythTV, whenever a Favourite appears in the EPG and it is NOT being recorded, then there is an explanation. There is also a way to view a list all upcoming favourites that are NOT being recorded, and the reason why. Example: I have "CSI - FirstRuns" as a favourite. Everytime I go to my upcoming recordings and see that CSI is not being recorded on Thursday (they day I expect first runs to air), I have to wonder, is Sage not recording it for the right reason? So I go to the EPG and find the episode, and I have to read the description and original air date to convince myself that yes, this is in fact a repeat. It would be nice if SageTV just put in text, or by some icon, that "This episode is not being recorded because it is a repeat". Or "This episode is not being recorded because it will be recorded at another time to avoid conflict." Thanks. |
