I have finally got the Sonic DVD Video Decoder to be selectable in Sage's Detailed setup.

My Windows XP Pro SP 2.1 by default had Windows Media Player 8 installed. On a whim I download/installed Windows Media Player 9, since it was mentioned by Opus4 that the Default selection in Sage for my system was in fact the Sonic Video Decoder.

When I ran Sage again I was able select Sonic's DVD and Audio decoder.

As well, the close captioning is gone.

Thanks to all.

Um... we are both using the same forum, so I'm not sure how my searches would have any better luck than yours.

I think that was stanger89, but I didn't go back to study all the previous posts to confirm that.

Isn't it interesting how Windows Media Player affects things other than itself..

Just thought maybe you knew how to use some of the advanced search better than I do. I never seem to be able to find my way back to some tid-bits I'd seen in the past. Seems like there are so many repeats of similar questions that all the "goodies" get shuffled way back so far it's hard to locate them again later.

Besides, you're pretty much keep up with and are on top of things much more than I am

Oh -- I thought maybe you figured a moderator gets better search tools. This forum software (like most I've used) doesn't seem to have great search capabilities, so it takes me just as long as everyone else to find things -- it all depends on the key words you use. I once thought about trying google with a site search, but that was worse.
