I can't test with a 350 & that thing has many known problems, so it could easily be a 350 problem. What happens when you use 2.1's originalv2.stv?

Opus4,

Just wanted to let you know that when you go into the "Custom Menu". The right arrow keys don't work as they do in every other menu. This is the only bug I've found so far in your STV.

In what way? If I use the right arrow on the Main Menu while highlighting "Custom Menus", it takes me to that menu, then while in that menu, using the right arrow takes me to the next menu. Where exactly are you running into a problem?

I am having isses with this STV, which I am sure are user error.

I used Mlbdude2 until today when I install the Sage 2.1 RC without issue.

I installed 2.1 over the top of 2.0.21 and while mlbdud worked great, i wanted some of the features found in Maldude2.

After following the instructions, I didn't have much luck. While the screen wasn't black, menus disappeared and backgrounds didn't refresh, stacking on one another.

So I decided to do a mostly fresh resinstall of sage beta. (leaving the wiz.bin).

Now I am able to use the originalv2 STV without issue. When I again followed the instructions for Maldude2, While I made progress, I still get the refresh problem (menus and backgrounds not refreshing and stacking on each other).

Does Maldude2 require a previous version be installed? I know Mlbdude2 has a subfolder all its own.

I am kind of at a loss. Please let me know if you need more specifics.

Thanks!

Make sure you are getting all 3 zip files: java extensions, support files, and the STV.

Then, when you unzip the support files, make sure you are following the instructions: that you are unzipping to your SageTV dir and that you are preserving the directory tree structure that the zip file contains. It sounds like you did not unzip it correctly, since the background image should end up in SageTV\STVs\OriginalV2\Opus4 & it seems like you are missing it.

I would use the default STV for a while, though, to see if you run into any bugs to report.

This is too good to let just slip by ... I never considered this, but being a commuter , I am REALLY interested in Traffic Maps ... Can this easily be added to any STV? Did you edit the WRS XML file to accomodate ...

So, bottom line can I do this or do I need to beg folks like Nielm, MlbDude and Opus4 to add this as a plug-in.

Thanks, T.

It is easy to do. Just find a site that has a traffic map to your liking and set up the weatherconfig.xml file to show it (You might want Scintilla to make reading the code easier). Read the info on setting up the weather section, it is easy. My next try is to use some of the traffic cameras in my area, they display on a 5min refresh as a still pic so it should be easy. If you have any problems with it I can post my STV.
I have a 50mile drive through some of the worst traffic I know of and it helps to be forewarned of problems! Just wish I had a mobile version.

Ok checked it out with the STV that comes with 2.1 and it doesn't work correctly either. I thought I tested everything out with the stock STV when I did my initial install and everything worked. I might have changed a setting and not realized it.

I followed the instructions for installing MalDude2 and I am experiencing the exact same results... menus stacking ontop of each other. Default STV and Malore21 both work fine. Issue only occurs when I use MalDude2

[Edit:] I should probably add that this is a fresh clean install of the beta RC4.[/Edit]

Do you have an "Opus4" subdirectory now located at <Frey Tech install dir>\SageTV\STVs\OriginalV2\Opus4, which contains background.png? If not, where is it located?

Did you end up with something like "<Frey Tech install dir>\SageTV\MalDude2_SupportFiles_1_0\STVs\OriginalV2\Opus4" instead? If so, watch where you are unzipping that file.

Yes, all my directories are in the correct location. Actually, right after I loaded the MalDude2 STV for the first time, it worked fine. But after exiting Sage and starting it back up, is when it began to crap out.

Then I'm not sure -- the only reason I can think of at the moment for this to happen is if some files are not where they should be. Do you have a property like this:

opus4/background=opus4\\background.png

What does your wizard/widget_db_file property look like?

Yes, I have the opus4/background property. My wizard/widget_db_file property looks like this:
wizard/widget_db_file=C\:\\Program Files\\Frey Technologies\\SageTV\\STVs\\OriginalV2\\MalDude2.stv

- Josh

[EDIT:]There is no space between the "s" and "tv" in "MalDude2.stv". I'm not sure why it's showing up that way in the post.[/EDIT]

Do you see an image when you load opus4\background.png into an image viewer/editor? Do you ever see that image in SageTV?

Try setting:

opus4/background=background1024.png

What happens when you select Weather Report Suite from the Main Menu?

OK, it was my fault. I replaced your background with one of my own also named "background". Except mine is a jpg not a png. After making the change in the properties file. Everything worked. Thanks.

I just had my main drive flake out on me last night. It was one of the IBM's that everyone was bitching about last year, just took a bit longer for mine to die. I think this could have been causing the problem as it was corrupting files, so I am going to get a new drive reset all up and see what happens.

I never used the mini-guide (I don't watch live TV unless I'm testing something), so it isn't on my list of things to do. I _might_ look into after 2.1 is finalized, but I can't promise it will be added.
