didn't bother to go thru the whole thread so i'm not sure if this has been reported.

Once you enter the recordings list, the left button doesn't take you back to the menu.

EDIT: Noticed this is specific to the malore custom menus.
Changed Rec style to mlbdude and problem disappeared.

Same thing in the weather screen. It might be better to have the left button back out to the menu (instead of cycling to the sponsored links tab)

I am getting the error "failed to load sagemenureader class" when loading this STV. Any ideas?

On the subject of improvements my current list is:
1. The music player needs improvement. The ability to just select a play list to play (m3u) or a directory and it to play, jumping straight into the visualisations would be a good start. Currently my next / previous buttons don't jump between files in a play list either, which is poor.

2. It may just be my set up, but the audio sync for DVD play back (AC3 pass through using WinDVD codecs) is poor. It doesn't retain sync correctly, if it every syncs correctly at all.

Other than that I am seriously considering buying SageTV. It looks very good indeed!

I like this skin a lot. The only problem I have is the weather module. When I try and cut and paste your weather lines into the web browswer and change the lines to SFO for my area, it shows in the web browswer fine, so I just make the changes in the config file, but when I try to load up the weather suite, the maps always remain as DC, they never seem to change.

I am not sure what is up. I am pretty sure I have the right lines, as they work when I try to cut and paste. any help would be appreciated.

I don't immediatly see what is causing you to have trouble but perhaps it is not shutting down sage completely when you edit the weatherconfig file.

yeah I am also having this same issue

I need to know how to find the correct urls

I do not think the default ones are correct for the cities I choose

I can get the weather for Dallas but the radar maps for local are still DC

I've seen other users from the Philadelphia area so I'll post my weatherconfig.xml. Maybe we should start a weatherconfig.xml thread containing configs for different cities. You'll have to remove the .txt extention to use this.

I put your STV on my machine last night and it is awsome. My wife absolutely loves the weather module, and I love the upcoming recordings window on the bottom of every page, and the disk space in the lower right corner.

There is a slight problem with the menu's however. When you go to Sage TV PVR/Schedule recordings, then use the right arrow to go into favorites, then use the left arrow to leave favorites and return to Schedule recordings you see the old schedule recordings menu. hit the left arrow again and you go back to your schedule recordings menu. Just thought you would like to know.

Hi Guys,

I'm the author of the weather menu, "Weather Report Suite" (named after a Grateful Dead medley).

The bad news is that I won't be supporting every request for assistance with this menu. The good news is that I'm willing to support it to some degree.

Be it known that the menu doesn't care where you download your data from, nor where you live, nor in which way you arrange your Weather Report Suite submenus.

I gathered the URLs in the example config from web pages on the internet. Accuweather is nice. You aren't restricted to accuweather, though... keep that it mind. Any animated gifs or sequence of images that you can download from the internet can be strung together by WRS into an animated weather map.

So, Colorado? My uncle lives there:

http://radar.accuweather.com/adcbin/...=den&type=loop is the animated weather map for the denver metro area.

Within the HTML for that page, you can search for "basemap" -- include the quotes in your search. You'll find a 'div' element that precedes a bunch of 'img' elements. Those are your animated gifs. You should be able to recognize the 'src' attributes in those img elements and plug them in to the weatherconfig.xml file in the right places. This stuff isn't rocket science, it just takes a little knowledge of HTML and XML.

Here is Colorado:

Code:
   <div class=basemap id="basemap">
      <img
src="http://sirocco.accuweather.com/adc_nxmos_640x480c/re2/inmaremr_den.gif"
height="480" width="640" border="0">
   </div>
   <div class=imclass id="image2">
      <img
src="http://vortex.accuweather.com/phoenix2/images/common/metro_layers/roads/den_6x4_roads.gif">
   </div>
   <div class=imclass id="image3">
      <img
src="http://vortex.accuweather.com/phoenix2/images/common/metro_layers/cities/den_6x4_cities.gif">
   </div>
   <div class=imclass id="image4">
      <img
src="http://vortex.accuweather.com/phoenix2/images/common/metro_layers/markers/den_6x4_int.gif"
alt="DEN Metro Radar">
   </div>
   <div class="emclass">
      <img
src="http://vortex.accuweather.com/phoenix2/images/common/keys/radar_400x40.gif">
   </div>

I will not respond to requests for URLs for other cities. I hope you guys will understand that I have spent a lot of time creating the Weather Report Suite so that we all can have great animated weather maps, and respect the fact that I don't want to become the "find my URLs for me" guy.

Regards,
Stuart

kny, I wasn't directing my statements about limited support towards you in particular. I'm very happy to answer general questions about how the WRS menu and it's config file work. I just won't be the guy who answers the questions like, "I live in Madagascar, what URLs should I use."

The source code, for anyone who's interested, is at http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.p...-report-suite/

This was a design decision. I like to have the left button be distinct from the back button. Sorry that you don't like it.

Thumbs up Awesome! Kudos to nielm

Finally ... My SageTV is getting closer and closer to what I'd like to see in a PVR. After a little XML kindergarten training on my own (one night), some trial and error ... and of course thanks nielm, I was able to design my own custom menu layout!

I have also read in this forum about someone who would like to see Sage with a beach scene background offering like Meedio. Well, I tried searching for a photo that would work well with the menu layout and wa-la, sky's the limit!! This was all added to my own font title choice and a little flare added to the Sage logo.

See Attached JPEG ...

Thanks for motivating me to fool with this nielm ...

I would like to see "all" of MlbDude2 menu options available in this STV and I noticed a few things that didn't work properly for me. I have some probable dumb questions as well. I'll compile them and let you know by time you return from vacation.

All in all, I love it and can't wait to try Studio. Well, if you guys keep making these great STV's maybe I won't really need it! Kidding ... Of course I want Studio too ....

Thanks, T.

Want to report a couple of bugs

Hi.....

Installed the 8-26 version and found, what I think, are the following bugs:

1. I used mlbdude's old recording display (selected from the menu), and when I deleted 3 recordings I, the recordings turned orange (instead of going away) and I could not go back to select shows to watch any more. The menu just stayed in the right-hand side going up and down the newly-oranged deleted recordings. I know they deleted becuase the disk space immedately jumped up. The above problem was using the remote. I was able to use the mouse to select something on the left column, however (but not desirable),

2. Went to view pictures. It now seems that the entire directory must have its thumbnails made to work properly. This seems different than before. Anyway, I was able to view a few pictures, but after scrolling down to where thumbnails weren't visible and hitting OK to view it, Sage stopped working for about 10 minutes then all of a sudden woke up. During the freeze, the mouse would not work on sage, but would for other applications.

3. Music Jukebox. Ok.... no flames or jokes here ok ? I have ONE SINGLE Yani album (remember, we all agreed no jokes)...... however, about 2/3 of my albums end up with Yani's album as their album art. It looks like this skin is placing the Yani art (where it got that from I don't know) in place of albums that don't have any art. I don't use folder.jpg for audio, just the embedded album art that's part of the ID3 tag.

4. Weather Suite..... Small little errors with remote cursor movement. When you go from Current Conditions and hit DOWN to see the radar, it leaves CURRENT highlited along with RADAR. If you move again, it leaves CURRENT highlighted and also selects METRO RADAR. There's some other strangeness when you cursor left to right, too.

5. I'm seeing a lot of "screen debris" left over in the video window, particularly on the main menu. Stuff like parts of blue bars, etc. I am running Overlay mode with 3D on and keying off.

Past this, it looks good. Unfortunately, I had to remove it from the main TV (and server) as the WAF (wife acceptance factor) goes WAY down when something doesn't work 100% with the remote. When WAF goes down, my aggrivation and "inbox" goes up. "-)

Keep up the good work.

Stacy

I give up

Ok . I loaded this at first and it was GREATTTTT! Then it stopped loading (I did change the other 3 locations for weather first). Now it will not load (goes back to original) and I have tried deleting and reloading files for the stv but to no avail. The properties file says nielm and the menu setup says nielm.stv but the original is loaded?

Question invisible font

I love this stv,

I am having one little problem

after using it for a while (not exactly sure how long but more than a hour less than a day) when i go into sage recordings (the one with the description at the top, the show name lower left and the episode list on lower right) all the text in the bottom 2 panes dissapears you can still move around in the panes like you would expect its just the font has become invisiable

2 solutions to this probelm once it occures
1 completely quit sage or 2 clear filters i usually have it set to show "not watched" only

this has happened to me on at least 10 occasions, I am not sure the sequence of events that causes it to break but at least i have a solution.

I am currently running it without the filter to see if this is whats causing it to happen

I'm having major issues w/ the #1 item on srothwell's post also.

you can get around it w/ the Rewind button, but it's still a pain.
