Thanks - I made those changes and was able to tune a channel from Sage last night so at least I didn't break anything. We'll see how recording/playback works over the next few days.

Channels on the Firestick and Android devices uses the Native Hardware decoders not exoplayer ... Exoplayer always wants a good stream but there are so many variables that can make a stream far from perfect for ex Network congestion ... TVE is also affected by quality of your internet.

I tried the IJK player that supposedly uses only hardware decoders if you disable software decoders and NOT disable hardware decoders. No luck; getting audio but not video and seeking is whacko. Since the same recording plays fine on the FS4K from Channels, it seems like the Sage client should at least show the video. I'm guess from your comment that the problem with this recording using ExoPlayer is that it doesn't like the experimental ChannelsDVR local stream.

use IJKPLAYER ... You can disable all hardware decoders in IJKPLAYER and enable the use of Native software decoders. use Dynamic Try that you should get picture.

That works pretty well; better than ExoPlayer at this point for this recording (which works fine for other Channels recordings). I did see a little weirdness with right skip (large buttons) but could get past it with the small right skip button.

So it's using Firestick native software to do the decoding?

Yes it will update just like always ... I got 14 days OF TVE guide data .. I had to disable the TVE Channels I do not get in SageTV.

I am going to have to turn to Schedules Direct myself. Xmltv plugin was working perfectly until today when I came home to find no epg and this error whenever I try to force update.

Wont be able to check out what is really going on till the weekend.

The first thing I would do is delete the guide data in my Channels DVR server and recreate it.... might be corrupted.

I went back to using Schedules Direct for everything but Pluto... I still am using Channels DVR as a backend for all tuners. The Sched Direct guide data includes all tags SageTV looks for.

Managed to get it fixed last night. Channeldvr's epg data seemed to have been corrupted like you said. There was a series of power outages in quick succession the other night before it happened.

I use a mixture of schedules direct and xmltv from channels myself. I use schedules direct for tuning and recording hbo using a bm1000 type device. I issue android adb commands to a spare nvidia shield to get youtubetv to jump to hbo.

Xmltv is my main source for now because when I use schedules direct for TVE channels the list does not include Adult Swim. I cant afford I miss out on reruns Smaurai Jack contending the the unspeakable evil unleashed by Aku!

I went back to using exclusively the XML plugin as it seamlessly removes no longer used channels and adds new channels.

You figured out a way to have channelsdvr detect your sagetv recordings yet? I was using the plex plugin to view remotely, but it appears to have been broken by a recent plex update.
