Just an FYI here:

Jere, let me just say that I'm very impressed, I'm running Comskip (.64) on my recording of Minority Report (1280x720 HD version from ABC) and it's not only working, but going 175-200fps

Well, it didn't take as long as I thought but, a problem:

Code:
        ---------------------
        Initial Commercial List
        ---------------------
 0) 66720 79144 6 minutes, 54.55 seconds
 1) 124963 139601 8 minutes, 8.42 seconds
 2) 180351 195555 8 minutes, 27.31 seconds
 3) 228590 244815 9 minutes, 1.37 seconds
 4) 276561 293586 9 minutes, 28.07 seconds
 5) 320542 336982 9 minutes, 8.55 seconds
 6) 376009 394812 10 minutes, 27.39 seconds
 7) 422303 438148 8 minutes, 48.70 seconds
 8) 471203 487025 8 minutes, 47.93 seconds
 9) 522931 536614 7 minutes, 36.56 seconds
10) 583304 598964 8 minutes, 42.52 seconds

        ---------------------
        Final Commercial List
        ---------------------

647013 Frames Processed
Commercials were not found.

The second run ended with an error code of 0
Successfully deleted batchfile - comskip.bat
Thoughts?

-edit,

On first inspection, the "Initial Commercial List" looks spot on.

Take a look at the max commercial break setting in your ini file. I'm sure that you'll find it around the 300 range. The initial commercial list shows breaks over 10 minutes (627.39 seconds).

A ten minute commercial seems a little fishy until I saw that your show was around 600,000 frames! If my math is right, that's around 5 hours 30 minutes of recording to show a 2 hour 25 minute movie. If they didn't cut a single frame of the movie, only 44% of your recording was the actual movie!.

What bloody channel was that!?!

Oh, totally forgot, it's HDTV, 1280x720p 60fps.

I just changed the FPS to 59.94 and am running it on the smaller file.

While I would love to take credit for that, the guys that wrote the mpeg decoding library that comskip uses should get it.

BTW, How big is that recording? In gigabytes, I mean.

Regarding the speed... hehe... just wait. ShowAnalyzer just ran through a soccer game at 1097 fps.

This is making me very glad I have an Athlon 64 3400+. Hey, when's the 64 bit version of this thing coming out? I want more speed.

Cool. Now I just have to get off my butt and start using an STV with Comskip support again

Worked like a charm after changing the framerate to 59.94. Now I've just got to wait for Video ReDo to finish cutting the commercials.

Anyone else running into problems with this on the new 2.2? It's still pulling commercials fine but I've run into the following. The custom menus and comskip menu in settings are missing. The top that tells the upcoming recordings in purple and the other recordings that there is not space for in red. The red now just says "Untitled" instead of the number of shows. Last, on the time bar at the bottom of the screen while playing a show in now just says "Time" instead of the current time spot of where you are watching.

Juncti: You have a STV problem, not a comskip problem. Who's STV are you using, and what version?

Jason: I hinted to Jere the same question, about testing what he's got. He didn't respond He seems really good about releasing software quickly, it is probablly not quite ready for prime-time yet.

This typically means that you are using an STV that hasn't been updated for Sage 2.1.

I'm using Malore's. It's the only modification I've made to Sage thus far.

I don't think malore's has been updated for 2.1/2.2. You might want to try the Maldude2 STV.

Malore's STV was updated for v2.1 -- I used it as the basis for MalDude2.

When v2.2 was installed, did you go back & load malore's STV again? Installing a new version resets SageTV to use the default STV.

Recently reinstalled CA and really like the enhanced commercial detection, but the Vprj files are empty. I am using comskip .66, comskip.ini has output_videoredo=1, using Videoredo v1.7. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
Thanks

Yeah, I reinstalled it after the upgrade. I was using it on 2.1 without trouble, but thought I'd give 2.2 a go. Maybe I'll just revert back to 2.1 as I haven't seen any improvement.

Jere,

I'm guessing you've probably thought of htis before but I just wanted to get your feedback on it. Did you ever try checking sound drop outs instead of video dropouts (black frames). Obviously there is silence during the middle of shows but I bet at lower frequencies shows still have some buzz during their silence and if nothing else, it could just be added into the mix as just another check.

I completely agree with you. This is already incorporated into ShowAnalyzer.
