I doubt its related to that error. Need your sagetv log to know more. You said the service wont start but the phoenix log indicates sage is running so what error are you seeing?

Did your Java get updated by chance?

I saw a post today in the Docker thread that said Java 10 and Java 11 have issues that affect Sage. Specifically, Java 11 removes some functions that Phoenix relies on.

Probably need to stick with Java 8 or 9 for now.

Sorry for slow response, I just got back to testing this. Wasn't able to duplicate that failure. From your postings, not sure which OS this is occurring on.

Tx (blasting) & Rx (learning) is working without issue for me. No problem alternating back & forth between Tx & Rx. I've tested Service mode (using both a user account and LocalSystem account, without 'interact w/desktop') as well as launching the non-service version of Sage64 from the desktop. This is running Win7-x64 and Sage64 from the v9.2.0 beta installer v1.104 (of 2019-01-04).

Thanks for the responses. I've had some personal issues to take care of here. What I did was reinstall windows. My system was unhappy. Prior to that, I uninstalled all Sage versions and wanted to start from scratch. I could not get Sage x86 to load and be stable.

I now have a fresh install and am having other problems that are detailed in a new thread.

This was using Windows 10 pro 64-bit. Problem was only with Sage 64-bit in service mode.

Client aborting when trying to play an AVI file

I have everything working really well, but I am having trouble playing any of my AVI files.

Whenever I try to play any of them, I get a black playback screen. The time does not increment, and It aborts to Windows. Al of these files play fine on the 32 bit version and VLC.

It is failing on the Sage Client on the main server, and on another windows PC that I have. Both are Windows 10. Strangely, it does not abort in PlaceShifter.

Attached is the log right before it ends, let me know if there is any more information that would be helpful.

It may help if you post your settings or screen grab from the video/audio decoders.

I tried several different sets of settings to see if I could troubleshoot it.

I set everything to LAV filters and I received the error. I could see that the LAV filters started because their icons were present in the systray until moused over them.

I then set everything to default. Same error of it aborting.

I event uninstalled LAV filters to make sure they were not the issue. Same error aborting. I could still play it via VLC because I also have Xvid installed.

Try EVR for Win 10 instead of VMR9 (which should be used for XP).

Have you tried setting the Video Renderer to EVR?

Edit: posted before trk2’s showed up.

I tried Default and EVR options. They all fail the same way which is for the client to just end.

I can play MP4 and MKV files without issue. The ones that are failing are XVID AVI files.

What are the registry settings for EnableSageTVStreamDemux and AlwaysSwapForAC3Filter. In theory both should be 0 for LAV.

One other guess...perhaps xvid is conflicting with LAV...uninstall xvid perhaps.

Windows 10 Clean install 64 bit

I just replaced my Sage Box as the old failed.

64-bit installer worked flawlessly - Perfect

Thank You so much.

I checked both registry settings, they were set to 0 in both installations that are failing. (two different Windows 10 PCs). Unistalled xvid, same failure.

I then uninstalled SageTV, deleted all of the registry settings, and re-installed a basic install. Set the audio and video settings to EVR and LAV and tried to play the AVI file. It failed in the same place. I have attached the log file for the failure.

I took a fresh Windows 10 install and loaded the 64 bit version. It aborted trying to play AVI files. I then loaded the 32 bit version on the same Windows 10 install. It worked fine.

Looking at the log files, the 64 bit version ended in:

It looks like the failure in the 64 bit version is when it is supposed to go to:
Mon 2/18 15:33:57.641 [Thread-17@571b5d] VMR9 info has changed width=720 height=544 arx=0 ary=0
All of the configuration settings between 64 bit and 32 bit are identical.

Any ideas what might be causing this? Anyone else experiencing the same issue? I have having the exact same failure on three separate windows machines. All other recordings and MP4 files seem to be playing fine.
