Well, a complete re-install of the OS, Sage on a new HD produced the same results. Jerky Video.

The only new info to come out of this is that the video is flawless on a computer monitor. But on a TV, it is jerky and it sux.

It plays just fine on the monitor on that same client computer? Could you once again describe how you are configuraing the output?

350 with or w/o software decoder in use too?

Video card's svideo out? Video card is configured for single monitor cloned to the 2nd display (TV), or as multiple displays with the SageTV running on the 2nd screen (TV)?

Well, I tried to recreate the monitor aspect of things, but now it is just as jerky as the TV video. The flawless video was when I had it set up on my test bench, before I took it into the bedroom for TV Hookup.

At some settings I can get about 10 secs or so of perfect audio and video. Then both start becoming jerky and stuttery.

I am using the SVIDEO plug of the video card (tried both a GEForce4 Ti4200 and the old TNT2 Ultra). I have tried it configged for both single display and Dual Display (Clone).

I wonder if I installed Sage Server on my bedroom and used a Drive Mapping to access the videos on the living room Sage.

Is there a different network connection in those 2 places? I think the network was mentioned in the past, but don't remember the results... nor feel like rereading everything here. Does it play fine again if you return to the test bench?

Something I didn't notice, but what type of network are you running? 10-base, 100-base, 802.11b/g/a wireless? If you're trying to use 10base, that may be your problem.

Problem solved.

Bad network cable. I didn't check it because all other network functions were fine.

Thanx everyone for all the help. I sure did learn alot about Sage.

That's one of the featues of the program -- a forced cable burn-out makes you take more time to familiarize yourself with the software.

Anyway... glad you found it.

I have always said, you learn more by screwing something up and fixing it, then you do if it works perfectly the first time.
