Thanks to the answers to all of my questions.

On the memory usage - I have a lot of extenders deployed, 9 in summer and 8 the rest of the year, and that can cause problems as when you are using more than about 4 simultaneously the Sagetvservice.exe will get very sluggish or crash as you have maxed out on the JVM. It also appears that after an extender disconnects that is does not drop all of its resources. Any tips on minimizing the amount of JVM used so that I don't run into troubles.

Not really...Sage just has a poor design for handling the extenders as they are all in the same memory space. Multiple Servers is likely the only real solution but I do find that Gemstone does better at memory handling than previous gemstone or diamond releases. You can also force a memory cleanup at any time by pressing the DELETE key (or button) from the Main Menu...this memory will cleanup by itself but this forces it to do it right away. I use the JVM widget on my main menu to keep an eye on the memory. But I have not rebooted a server for memory cleanup since the last release of Gemstone....but that is only 2 extenders. In my opinion 4 or perhaps 5 might be max but I have never tried it.

I really feel the out of the box default settings in Gemstone handles the memory the best with still getting fanart. There are settings in the Utility options menu for adjusting cache settings but again I have found the defaults to work the best....others may have tried settings that may be better so they can feel free to jump in.
