Yeah - I should have done that BEFORE posting the question here. Works much better with a firewall exception.....

Have exact the same probelms, therefore the Recordings sections do not populate. The videos do work properly, what indicates that there must be another problem - was this issue solved?

..so the recordings sections do not populate. The video views do work in fact, what indicates that there is maybe some small thing to use it. Was this issue solved ?

Well, it was never intentionally resolved, so I'm guessing no. When you go into BMT, can you browse recordings? Or in Phoenix/Phoenix2 can you browse recordings?

The log file snippet has nothing that would cause an error (that I can see). And just to clarify... using the App, you can browse videos, but not recordings?

Yes to both, i can browse all my imported Videos with the APP and i can browse all my recording with BMT/Phoenix. In sagetv i use gemstone though.

if i fire
Code:
/sagex/phoenix?c=phoenix.umb.CreateView&1=tvserien
against my sagex api i get all my tvshows back (some 4000 shows) on my pc (firefox).

Maybe a localization or charset problem (I am Austrian so i use German)

regards

hmmm... it might be that my app can't handle processing all 4000 shows at once Or it might be a character set issue... although I think I use UTF8, so I would have thought, we'd be fine in that regard.

Have you tried creating a "smaller" view to see if it might work. For example, I have an All TV view that brings back everything, which is about 100 shows, since I archive nothing. But then I have an All TV Unwatched that returns back ONLY unwatched TV shows, and this is the view that I use 99% of the time.

When you load the views in the app, does the app "force close" or given an other type of error?

And, if you want, go into the App settings and enable the debug logging to sdcard. Then kill the app, and restart, and try to load the tv shows, and then find the .txt in root of the sdcard and email it to me. Maybe there is some error in there that I can decipher.

ran a quick test with a view which limits the shows only to HD recordings - worked without any problem. the number ob recordings seem to be the limiting factor. maybe a timeout problem?

It could be a timeout, or it may be too large to load into memory I'm going try and make some time for Phoenix over the next couple of weeks, so I'll see if I can dig into this.

I'm a newbe on these forums so please be patient if I post in the wrong place.

I installed the Phoenix for Android app on my tablet and the required plugins on my SageTV server using the quick start guide. The connections all test ok with the exception of VLC (not too worried about that for now) and the Phoenix main screen shows me some information about recordings. The problem is when I go to the Mobile Web page I get a 404 /sagem/m/ error from jetty. Is there another plugin I don't know about to get around this or some additional configuration needed? n.b. the SageTV web application works fine on the tablet.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Not sure if you were the same person that emailed me... but You'll need to install the Sage Mobile Web plugin to access the mobile webserver.

Quick thought for future improvement. I really like the setting default transcode setting option but would like to see that be configurable per server. I have a local and Internet based version and I'd like my Internet version to default to "Low Quality" and home version to be "High Quality" or "No Transcode"

That's a good idea.

Another Feature Request

It would be nice if we could configure nicknames for network devices or use hostnames. IP addresses aren't good for WAF.

you can do that in the webui or the mobile webui and phoenix will use those names... check screen shot:
click on meadia cetner -> home -> extender name

The App, "should", use the names already configured (hopefully), and you can change the extender name by long pressing on the extender name, when you select it. When you do that, you can rename it from within the mobile app.

Hi Stuckless, regarding your comment above - yes I am the same person who emailed you. I now have Mobile Web working. Thanks... perhaps the plugin needs adding to the quick start guide.

I purchased your app and have a couple of questions to start off with if that's ok...

six of the first seven tv shows have an artwork banner. The rest just have the title. Is there a solution to this?

can I have a view from my main screen to simply show all sage recordings?

Individual program descriptions don't have a banner. Is this because I need to configure fanart?

Thanks.

That probably would be good.

There's a couple reasons this might happen...
1. You'll want to make sure that the fanart is working in SageTV. ie, If you use Phoenix UI or Gemstone, you probably have Fanart enabled. If you don't use those, then you might not have fanart enabled.
2. Install BMT Web UI and check to see if the show in question has fanart, and if it doesn't then update the metadata/fanart using BMT.
3. Some shows in the app will not fetch the correct fanart (it's a bug). For example, I have issues with Once upon a Time... I still need to investigate.

Yes. (this is where a quick start would be helpful). Go into the Menu Manager from the tripple dot menu. In there, you can add a new view, remove existing views, etc. So, add a view, give it name, and then select the view from the view list. There should be a few around Recordings. I forget which ones I ship enable by default, but you can add/remove from there.

Indivual programs should have a poster image (for a movie) or an espiode image (if it's a TV show). If you see no images per item, then most likely, fanart has not been downloaded/installed (use BMT to update/download fanart)

Hi Stuckless

I use the Diamond ui. I've had a good look but there doesn't seem to be an option to enable fanart. Phoenix has its own fanart folder that BMT is automatically pointing at but that doesn't contain thumbnails for episodes, these are within one of Sage TVs own folders.

Six of the first seven tv shows have a banner, none of the remaining 20 shows do e.g. Doctor Who. I don't follow how I can change this in the BMT web ui.

Thanks for your continued help.
