On my system, 1080i videos recorded with HDhomerun transcode ok, but 1080i videos recorded with HDPVR just give a "SageTV did not produce a stream url." No problem with HDPVR videos that are not 1080i.

On task manager, I see the process vlc.exe start, then is gone. And unlike other videos, nothing is produced in the userdata/Phoenix/streaming/ folder.

Anyone else see this?

Yes, plays fine with VLC on the server. It's USAHD network btw, not sure how many other cable networks are in 1080.

Those files have always had issues to stream, ffmpeg doesn't like them either...

Feature Poll #1: The Results: Schedule Recordings

So, the results are in for the Feature Poll. It would appear that Scheduled Recordings was the winner with 20 votes.

Quote:
Schedule Recordings
- Ability to schedule recordings without linking to the Mobile Web View (today, you can search airings and schedule recordings, by using the View in Web View option on the search results)
- This would give you the option of using a native view to schedule a new manual for favorite without requiring the Mobile Web View.
So, if you want to post some ideas on how this would be implemented, then feel free... I'll start working on this this week, and I'm not sure how long it's going to take to fully implement.

Thanks for voting.

FYI: Progress Update...

So this weekend, I finally got a few hours to get back to this project... The last couple of weeks have been extremely busy with another project.

I've started the process of enabling the Scheduled recordings from the App. What I've implemented so far (which is only a piece of the final solution) is the ability to
- Record/Cancel Record on an EPG Airing without options. Ie, this enabled manual record/cancel.
- Implemented Don't Like/Clear Don't Like for EPG Airings
- Implemented Set Watched / Clear Watched for EPG Airings
- Added Don't LIke, Watched, Favorite and Manual Record badges to EPG Airings when showing them in the list view.

My next step is to add in the Recording Options (ie padding) and to add in the Add Favorite/Configure Favorite options as well. The record options will be fairly quick, but the Favorite one will be more work, since it'll be a new series of screen for managing favorites and configuring the options for favorites.

I have 2 weeks before I get real busy again on my next project, so I'm hoping to get all the scheduled recordings an favorite stuff done by the end of the this upcomming weekend.

Brilliant - nice job, London, on the World Championships this week as well

Build 2.0.2

Release Notes for 2.0.2
➤ Added Set Watched/Clear Watched for EPG Airings
➤ Added Set Don't Like/Clear Don't Like for EPG Airings
➤ Added Manual Recordings with Recording Options (padding and quality)
➤ Fixed "Force Close" issues related to purchasing

This is the start of the "Schedule Recordings" enhancement. I thought I should get it out to the group, so that you can test/verify that it is working. (I don't use these features myself, so I've done some limited tested to verify that it works, but not much more)

To schedule a manual recording, you search the Airings, and then long press on it, and press "Record". Once a manual recording has been created, you can long press on it again, to either "Cancel Recording" or "Set Recording Options" for padding and quality.

I'll continue to work on favorites and conflict resolution. I was hoping to have favorites out in this build, but there is just SO MUCH to the favorites stuff, that it's going to take some time

I just installed this on my Nexus7.. Most of it works.. I cannot get the vlC set up..

Odd thing is my Server (WHS v1) has Java 7 but SageTV says I have 1.6 installed..

everything is up to date and I have restarted my server a few times

IS the streaming piece part of the premium Version of Android app?

Excellent, everything works great! Thanks for the great app.

You need BMT installed and under the "Command" box you have to set your VLC path on your server. Other than that, it should work. So, look under BMT webUI for the VLC path. There are no premium options to unlock so don't worry about that.

I did that last night too, but I just logged in to another pc to check VIA the Web UI and it was not what I entered last night.

I will try it tonight when I get home, then I will set it up so I can access it outside my internal network

The VLC portion also requires that the server is running Java 7. Can you confirm if you are running Java 7 on the server?

That's just it.. I have Java 7 installed, yet when I check the System information is shows 1.60 I know it should be 1.70 how do I get Sagetv to recognize that Java 7 is installed?

Next is to stop the Sage Service, uninstall , then reinstall Java 7, but I am not sure that will work

suggestions?

If you're running WHS v1 and running the sage server with the WHS version of Sage you need to understand that java runtime is installed with it. There is a JRE subdirectory that is your core java installation for WHS in the SageTV directory. If you want it to use the version 7 you installed then you need to rename the JRE directory to something else so that it will use the version you installed.

Thanks Gerry, I figured it was something like that and I did not see the jre directory the first couple times I looked..

It is at 1.7 now.. I will try the app again when I get home

I have everything showing as passed but I get this error as well for any recorded show I try to stream on my Nexus 7..

"SageTV did not create a stream url."

Suggestions on what to try next?

In the SAGE_HOME/userdata/Phoenix/streaming/ directory there will be a directory for your device id... and in there, you should see .ts files and a .log file. Check the .log file and see if it shows anything.

If you don't see a userdata/Phoenix/strreaming dir, then make sure your SAGE_TV setup has write permissions to the userdata area.

Well, that warning is just a warning, and it should not change the behaviour of VLC...

Because this is transcoding on the fly, is your server powerful enough to actually transcode the stream? Do you see any .ts files being created?
