According to my sources, one of the demonstrations will combine live TV listings with Netflix and DVR content. This will be the first time all of these services will be in one place.

This SOOOOOO smells like SageTV gets proper online services integration!!!

My fears are coming true, learning how to DIY home repairs while doing a mini home remodel has spawned scope creep of epic proportions. What started off as adding a closet and moving back door has resulted in replacing driveway gate, adding a 2nd gate, redoing other kids closet, putting shelves everywhere, repainting exterior, new electrical wiring, carpeting, tiles, and more. Have I mentioned that I'm doing everything but the electrical since I work cheap?

Not that I'm giving up any soccer, I still have my 5 games per week. I guess I know what I'm doing every night or weekend when there's no kid or family stuff going on.

Fair warning, 90% of what I post has nothing to do with HTPC's or Sage, since 90% of my life is about other stuff. Although given my imminent server rebuild (on hold until I see if there's any interesting GTV announcements this week), that ratio may change a little.

Google would probably have a hard time (legally) selling them without warranty. Maybe 30 days would be doable.

We don't know how many HD300's were on the shelf at the time of the acquisition. 5? 50? 500? The SageTV employees may have taken home a handful each as a bonus of sorts.

I'd like to replace my HD100 with a 200/300, but not at the current "bargain" price of $400+ on eBay. But hey, if that's the way things are going then I'm out in the cold. Oh well. Transitions are never without discomfort.

It's been over a year since the news that Google bought SageTV. Are there any updates? Will the new GoogleTV be compatible with SageTV as an extender? Will client licenses or extenders ever be sold again?

I've been using SageTV for 7 or 8 years now and I really don't want to move on, since I've never seen anything that is truly competitive in my opinion.

I'd love an update from Narflex or someone with Sage/Google.

Actually the current plugin works with mc2xml or 1 lineup schedules direct if I'm remembering correctly.

That is correct. Full support for SD accounts with multiple lineups is partially implemented in the current code, but not complete. Assuming I'm still using Sage when the Sage EPG service is officially declared dead, which I'd say is likely if that were this year, then I'd probably finish up that work, assuming the demand for it exists.

Yes I would very much like the epg alternative to be completed. I would like to stay with sage for another year or two, unless google comes out with something better but I don't think it will happen in the next two years.

Me too! I am not planning on anything else for as long as I can. At least the rest of this year and probably next year as well. I have 3+ lineups per server currently. Each tuner has a different lineup in SageTV for OTA but I could just use one and copy the lineup for each since each tuner deals with my multipath issues/signal strength differently. However to get one station I use QAM from cable company (I'm only paying for Internet but the locals they are giving me free), OTA for the rest of the locals in particular one in HD that is not provide via QAM and the usually better reception, and DirectTV for biggest majority of channels - hence the need for 3 lineups.

I was wondering, since we haven't heard from Narflex for a while, google is pretty mum on their plans for Sagetv (was it just the nexus q after all?), and that it's been over a year since sage was purchased--and assuming that the developers of Sage are still employed by google...

What do you think a typical day is like for a SageTv/Google developer? If you think that Sage was mothballed, what do you think they might be working on? If you think Sage isn't mothballed, do you think they are just working on porting Sage to android? Or adding new features?

Please no flaming or bashing...It's just complete speculation and light hearted conversation.
