Plex Scanner and BMT Agent for SageTV

I got a pretty major update in the works here. I uncovered several sneaky bugs which have been causing interminatn issues for a lot of people. mainly update, yeah it wasn't working due to the stinking properties file. When the update function is called, the SEARCH is bypassed. properties file is only read in the search... so the URLS being formed on ONLY update resulted in NADA!

here is a list of what I have been working on and a few screens so you can see how its looking
- fanart/posters fixed (mostly) there is still the case of empty poster by bmt
- series level duration fixed
- series level date (set to most recent recording (sage doesn't store series level date
- watched/unwatched now syncs like it should from sage to plex
-- I believe this will allow me to sync statuses both ways on scan.. I have to ask a few questions over on the plex forum but now that updating is working, we should be good to go!
- Show category Strings are now working correctly (before only 1 would show)
- Parental Ratings
-Director / Producer / Actors / Guest Stars / etc.

Hi not sure if this question has been asked but I just noticed on the wiki instructions in the 'Configuration' section the first line of instruction is explaining that 3 files need to be modified but step 1 is this:
"Plug-ins\BMTAgent.bundle\Contents\Code\BMTAgent.properties"
But the zip file actually extracts to:
"Plug-ins\BMTAgentTVShows.bundle\Contents\Code"
Should I rename the folder "BMTAgentTVShows.bundle" to "BMTAgent.bundle"?

So I just completed a test with the plug-ins BMTAgent folder name and I discovered that when it is named "BMTAgent.bundle" I don't get any cover art from BMT for TV Shows and for Movies I don't get anything at all. When the plug-ins BMT Agent folder named "BMTAgentTVShows.bundle" then I get all the cover art from BMT for TV Shows and for Movies I don't get anything at all. For the record I've never been able to get Movies to work with BMTAgent. But for me it's not a big conerne with the movies because they work just fine with the Plex Movie Scanner.

Movies don't use the bmt agent but rather u should use the standard plex agent for movies... It should say tha in the wiki.

That's because you should use the sage tv scanner but NOT the bmt agent for metadata...

Sorry my bad on the terminology. I meant to say that I am using the BMTScanner for movies not BMTAgent. Like you said there is no BMTAgent for movies. So same end results just incorrect term, when I use the BMTScanner for Movies with the Freebase Agent as the wiki instructions say to use I don't get anything in my Movies section. So I use the Plex Movie Scanner with The Movie Database Agent and all my movies show up.

I got a few people testing this out for me, but so far so good. Everything is working really well and I am very happy with the imporvements that have been made and bugs that have been eliminated.

updates should work now. So you shouldn't HAVE to remove the section and rescan. I just did a test where the first scan resulted in missing fanart (on purpose), and then i rescanned which calls the update code....fanart showed up along with all missing metadata

Great Job the only ones that could not get Data for are the Law & Order: Criminal Intent. I think it might have something to do with the ampersand. Or it thinks its a movie. Data is ok in BMT.

Everything Else worked great watch status carried over. Shows I was having problems with before had no problems with the update.... and I have thousands of Shows and am only missing the Law & Orders so great job. You already know recently aired did not work.

Edit it cannot be the & because Rizzoli & Isles worked.

Please email me a short snippet of the file with ORIGNAL file name if you can. also please send me the full bmtagent log which has this file in it.

It is most likely a piece of metadata that the agent is grabbing or thinks it is grabbing from sagex and that returns None or null. I probably forgot to throw conditional around this metadata field, and therefore it fails upon writing the metadata to the plex media object.

scratch sending me a sample file... I see the exact filename in the log you sent. i will use that.
just as a heads up, only sending a portion of the file doesn't help all that much.. so if you have problems please just go ahead and attach the entire log.

*****Edit - I took another look at your short snippet of log and it looks like, at least from the log that the BMTAgent is picking up the Law&* Order episode as a Movie. If it is stored as a movie in plex, then it will NOT show up in the TV Shows section on Plex. Is this an imported TV show?
Can you check to see if it is set as a Movie?

I just did a test shot with just the Criminal Intent files and it found the metadata. Log attached

PS They are all TV Shows that were recorded and transcoded... to mp4... My roku direct plays them which is great.

can u give me some more info on what happened here?

From the log it looks like everything went fine.
