I don't know if it will help. There are about 10 beta software updates after that and the latest fixed most of the instabilities with tuners missing on the network and viewing conflicts. Plus, as I understand it, you can't update firmware backwards.

I'm guessing that SageDCT needs updating to work with the latest beta firmware

babgvant,

Thanks for the amazingly fast response with an update.

Then tuners now appear when I do a scan. I assume that on the new Tuners tab, I'm supposed to enable each of the tuners to a specific pot. Is this correct?

On the Source Details, I see functioning: false

When I do a channel scan, it sees no tuneable channels. Any suggestions?

Starting with 1.6 when you generate the encoders properties it tracks each tuner and what port it is on. If you already did that, they you don't need to enable them (unless you've disabled them) on the tuners tab.

The important thing is that the port in sage matches the port in the config tool, so the primary purpose of the new tab is to allow you to more easily sync them (i.e. change what SageDCT is using to match what is in SageTV). The service will need to be restarted after any changes are made to the tuners (ports/enable/disable).

I don't think SageDCT supports channel scans.

Did you click "Save" after each change? It looks like there's a bug in the Enable/Disable thing that I will have to fix tonight.

Has anyone gotten SageDCT to work on windows XP without having to run windows 7. I saw the firewall note on SageDCT site and wasn't sure if it would work because of it?

Just an update that I got the TA today and installed it. It worked out of the box and now I can tune nearly all channels. Premium channels (Starz, HBO, etc) tune, but I can't see/record them since they're set to copyonce. The only issue I have left is that some of the new HD channels introduced to the lineup this month are missing from the Prime's lineup. I've had two 'signals' sent, rebooted, power cycled, etc. The funny thing is that after the first signal they sent, my lineup did change, to reveal all sorts of weird 1000 and 3000 series channels that looked like they should be internal to the system.

Starting to wonder if it is a firmware issue, but holding off on an update until SD's beta and SageDCT are confirmed to play well together.

Lightbulb Back Rev of Firmware

As an IT professional, I back rev firmware occasionally. The Silicondust people could put in restrictions to prevent an easy back-rev of the HDHR and HDHR Prime, but I don't see why they would, especially with beta software.

It makes sense to allow back-rev of firmware especially with a beta firmware release. Most firmware, including your computer's firmware, will allow a back-rev if the right instructions are issued.

Moot point since babgvant rev'd SageDCT.

babgvant,

I got the configuration to the point that Sage sees 3 tuners as functioning, but I still get a No Signal message when I tune a channel.

According to SD they are not allowed to downgrade the firmware as part of the Cable Labs certification.

Same here with 09202011 and SageDCT 1.7. I wasn't being and idiot though. I'm too old to fix things that are not broke. I was having lockups and stalled recordings.

I will try SageDCT 1.8 tonight when I get home and post results.

Did you turn on your Windows Firewall? That fixed the No Signal issue in Sage for me, but I haven't upgraded to the latest Beta yet.

But nothing stops them from taking an older build, giving it the next build number and pushing it as an 'update'.

KJake,

I'm don't know why or how, but turning ON the windows firewall worked! I display all channels now.

One more issue -- two of the Prime tuners show Network Encoder: True in the source detail screen, one shows False. They were all entered the same way and the port numbers in SageDCT match the port numbers in Sage.

Back in Business - Thanks babgvant

Installed SageDCT 1.9, regenerated tuner list, enabled Static Ports for each tuner, updated SageTV properties, and bingo all is good so far.

HDHomeRun running 20110920beta1.

Thanks babgvant.

Did the same as well. Basc channels working fine.

Thank you babgvant!

EDIT: I should add that I had to manualy enable the tunners in the saved text file, then add to Sage.properties file.
Well done babgvant, thanks again.
