Bill,

I've started looking into what rtmp support I can find out there that might be compatible with Sage. rtmpdump was on my list of possibilities but now that you tell me this is what SharkHunter uses I'll move it to the top of the list.

I'll keep on pecking away at it and let you know how I progress.

Tom

So, what do you think of rtmpdump. Do you think it will work with Sage?

I just started looking at it. The question isn't "will it work". The question is "how long will it take to get working"?

Still a long way to go, but at least it's progressing.

The folks over at Naxi-Xtreme did most of the hard work. I just needed to wrap my head around what they did and make it work under Sage.

Navi-Xtreme has a mind boggling number of video and podcast formats on it so what I suspect I will do is release this in pieces gradually adding support for different video types. I'm focusing on rtmp first because there is no way to get any of that content into Sage yet. There seem to be a lot of Podcasts, but we can already play most of them so it's not a high priority.

Sensei Slugger and Sensei stuckless get a lot of credit too.

Thanks for all your effort. This is something that will keep sage alive for awhile. At least in my opinion.

No. All of the work I've been doing is behind the scenes stuff. I'm working on some navigation issues and some search methods that are primarily needed for testing. (I can't test various types of centent available if I can't find it.)

I also have one or two outstanding questions that I've asked one of the developers but haven't heard back.

I know you are eager to see this. I'm working on it but it is turning into a big project. I'll try to package something up and post it but it will be nowhere near beta. I need to work on the packaging anyway and this will be a good excuse to work on that.

You are right, I am eager. However, I don't want to appear to be pushy either. I just appreciate you taking the time to work on this project.

I am sorry to hear that it turned into a much bigger project than anticipated.

It's still progressing. The Navi-Xtreme website has been down all day and that has hampered my testing.

Me thinks they link to some questionable material. Let's hope they're just having technical difficulties and not legal ones.

Good news is the web site is up. The issues seem to be isolated to the forums.

Something to try

This is a VERY CRUDE first attempt. The STVi has a lot of debug information that is displayed and many things still do not work. I've worked mostly on getting Podcasts and Video to play.

If you find something that does not play please:

- See if it works in the Navi-X simulator, found here: http://navix.turner3d.net/ Near the bottom of the page is a link to the simulator.

- See if it works in XBMC. (Yes, you need to install XBMC and then install the Navi-X package.)

If it doesn't play in XBMC it won't play in Sage.

To install, place the xml in the install directory of your Sage server and look in the UI Mod section of the plugin manager for Navi-X.
