Since SageTV is still installed on the old computer, I have a system I can safely tinker with.

I have to ask, what are the advantages of the Phoenix route?

Thanks,
John

I believe the Phoenix route offers one Advantage the ability to create your own Views... but since it is a channel you lose all the advantages of PLex ... like on Deck, Watched Status in Plex etc.... and I believe the ability to resume and pick up elsewhere.

Watched most of the Olympics from South Africa using AirVideo SD on an iPad.
TiSageTV app for iPad works for everything but playback, for which it kinda sucks.
Placeshifter works on a laptop, but not as well for me.
Also use the Phoenix Remote app on Android to schedule, check and delete recordings. Viewing works, but really only well with 4G
