"TV (Series/Season) should have all of your recorded shows (TV Shows and Movies that aired on TV) in it. Basically anything SageTV core thinks of as a TV Recording.....
Isn't that what "Recordings" should be? If not, what's the difference between the two?

To my mind, TV Series/Season should not include anything marked as Movies, even if it was recorded. And I could have sworn that's how it worked before...

IT did used to work that way, however that's now how it works now. To be a little more specific, there was view named TV (Series/Season) in the old BMT that worked that way, but that view was not THIS view. Part of the restructuring done with this version pretty much obsoleted all of the old views, and what you see now are similar in a lot of cases but in a few they have changed.

It is possible to create a view that has just items with the media type of 'TV' but I don't think stuckless has one in there by default. He'll probably add one, or you could do it yourself if you want to play with XML files......

btl.

So what's the difference between the two views "Recordings" and "TV (Shows/Series)"?

Recordings is flat - no folders. TV (Series/Season) groups into folders for each show, and then folders under that for each season.

If there are some views that people would like to see there, by default, then by all means, describe the views, and I will include them with bmt (not phoenixe). It's pretty easy for me to add the views, but I simply add/remove what I feel like

If you would like a view, then you'll need to describe it in terms of how it is grouped, sorted, and filtered.

Or is is it just showing Recordings and Recorded movies?
There is no longer any grouping that has just my TV series.
The TV series/episode now has all of my movies mixed in -- a lot, individually.
All sage media files now has all of my pictures -- individually -- making it pretty useless.
All videos grouped is just hosed -- shows date folders that if I click on em, just keep going down and down opening the same folder with no contents except the date folder.
Movies is empty.

See here and here - if you try toggling the source it will probably work assuming you're having the same problem as me and vivdweb - sure sounds like it.

Yep, you called it on the database. Looks like a bug from here -- one that I didn't have before.

I still have the sorting problems...

And, now I'm having problems saving changes with it saying that it can't unimport a file to allow me to make changes. I have upgraded to 7.0.21 if that makes a difference.

perhaps you could email me a zip of the log (tools - create support request), since you seem to be having some pretty wild issues. I haven't tried this .21 yet, myself, but I doubt it's the problem.

Error in Vfs file

I just updated to the latest version and now whenever the server is restarted it throws an error: \stvs\Phoenix\vfs\vfs.xml; unhandled source tag: item

The updated failed for some reason while updating the Phoenix core so I had to manually update it.

I'm running 7.0.20

Thoughts/suggestions?

Just updated to the newest version. Thanks!
Now I am trying to get my movie information updated. I am looking at the web view for "Missing Metadata" and working on the ones that didn't match up. I can manually find the metadata, but when I go to save, I get an error "ExternalID cannot be blank". The External ID field is of course blank.
I have the same problem, when i check the status bar i have 4.9.1
thetvdb.com finds the show but when i click on it everything goes blank, there is noting set (including external id is blank)

Did you manually update to the 2.2 release, or did you manually just grab the latest jar from the download site. If it's the latter, then that's definately your problem. The only version that should be installed on any system right now, is the version that is reported in the plugin system (2.2 I think). The phoenix download site usually contains a number of newer builds than what is available to sagetv, but those are test builds, specifically for use with the phoenix dev team.

My recommendation is to use the plugin manager to install plugins, and refrain from manually updating things. If you experience an issue using the plugin manager, then it might be a phoenix issue, or a sagetv issue. Sometimes when I upgrade bmt/phoenix I get a failed plugin message. Usually if I restart a second time, it works. That leads me to believe that somewhere during the upgrade cycle, that the plugin manager didn't extract the libraries as it should, etc.

Try restarting the sagetv server and clear your browser cache, to make sure that everything gets updated/cleared.

If the problem exists, then create a support request from the web ui (if you can) and email the logs to me.

Wow that was fast.

All new files are from the plugin manager. I used old version sucssesfully before sagetv 7 nad plugin manager. I have tryed to remove all old files from the jetty folder. I have installed and uninstalled many times without any luck.
I did manage to get metadata on a movie from idmb but nothing on tvdb.

I created a support request so the logs are sent to you.

Thank you very mutch.

In looking at your SageTV classpath, I can see that you've upgraded from 6 to 7. Did you run the BMT upgrade tool that was posted in the sticky? If you did, then for some reason, it did not correctly clean out some jars... here's a list of you jars... I've bolded the ones that you need to remove, manually.

Code:

JARs\servlet-api-2.5-6.1.19.jar

There are some duplicate Jetty jars in there as well, but that's not my area, so I'm not sure if they should be there or not.

Once you remove those jars, you'll need to restart the sagetv server.

Ya, sorry I wasn't very clear on the manual update part. After BMT failed I manually updated the Phoenix Core using the Plug-in manager. I'll never download a jar again if I don't have to! :-)

I've restarted several times and it keeps throwing this error. What do recommend in this case?

My recommendation... unintstall bmt web and phoenix core. Then delete the STVs/Phoenix/ directory in the SageTV home. Then use the plugin manager to install it again. (btw, if you Fanart is stored under STVs/Phoenix/ then you may want to back that up first)
