So you did install the update, right? I'm really stumped now. This is going to take some serious research. The problem I found was really stupid and would definitely cause the problem (I was able to recreate it easily). The changes are relatively simple as long as you have the phoenix jar file. I'll sleep on it and look again tomorrow afternoon.

One minor suggestion.
This is from an extender point of view and not sure about others... Let's say I hit info on the screen to see what time it is during playback of a show. 2 things happen my eyes look in the upper right corner first, because that's where the time usually is... The other thing is sometimes the time can be hard to read when it's located in the lower right corner, the channel logo obscures it just enough to make it more difficult to see clearly. Maybe the background opacity could be darkened to prevent the channel logo from bleeding through and making it difficult to read the time? |

First off, thanks for the great UI. I seem to be presented with the channel numbers twice when starting up live tv (one for the reference and one for the channel change). Is there a way to change this as it looks odd in this UI?
Thanks Last edited by g-man; 11-10-2010 at 11:29 AM. |

That is default Sagetv, it shows the channel number and channel I'D in the thumb area when a channel logo is not present for live tv (I think). The easiest way to take care if this is to install or create a channel logo pack for your lineup. There are several of them out there you can grab. Cheers, Jeremy |

I'm not sure that we will be making any more major changes to the OSD but the next revision might have an option that might help you out ;o) Cheers, Jeremy |

As Jeremy said that was one major complaint was not seeing the time bar when play was hit and that is how we resolved it. I don't see this being changed either. |

Actually, I don't mind the time being in the lower right. Just something for me to get used to. I guess what I was more getting at is that sometimes the time is hard to read there because of the channel logo. I'm not saying the time needs to move just maybe make the background layer that it sits on a little darker so that the channel logo which is usually white doesn't bleed into the time making it a little more difficult to see. I'm not criticizing, just making suggestions. It would be nice to grab a screenshot from the extender to show you, but hopefully I'm making sense. Maybe I'll take my camera out and see if I can get a shot.
BTW, the theme is excellent! |

Definitely getting better. How are the episodes ordered? Are they in season/episode sequence? Without the numbers and/or airing date (for verification) displayed, there's no way to know for sure. If the metadata was 100% accurate, I'd be fine without that more limited info, but I've seen too many issues where metadata is wrong or missing entirely.
I know you said it's still work in progress, so feel free to ignore this next part if it's just due to that W.I.P. status: Two folder icons? What's with the checkmark? (Sidenote: Why do I suddenly feel like Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School... What's with the midget?) Overall, I like where it's heading...

What do you get if you don't have a banner for the particular show? For example, local news, my wife's constant recording of obscure and randomly-named shows from PBS, or manual recordings? Just the default STV show title?

In the grouped image you posted, there's a folder to the left of the 0/106 count, plus there's another folder icon on the right of the group selection. I got another ball.
