If the UI Mod plugin is installed turn on debug logging and send me the logfile so I can have a look at it. To turn on debug logging: - Turn on debug logging in the advanced setup menu. - Go to the CommercialDetector "General" plugin (not UI Mod) config and set the loglevel to Trace. Then select a recording and press the "Run Comskip" button. Thanks, Tom

I had only installed the "General" plugin and did not see the "UI Mod" plugin. I didn't realize there was a "UI Mod" plugin. Thanks for pointing it out and for making this work so well. h50 |

Selected "Restricted times" are not remembered
Sorry for hijacking another thread about Commercial Detector (I'm not sure if I need to start a new one). My problem: when I go to Configure->Restricted Times and select a time range in the dialog (e.g 00:00-00:59), the range gets highlighted, as expected. I then click on "Close" to close the "Restricted Times" dialog. But no changes are actually made: the value shown is still the default "[]". When I open the "Restricted Times" dialog again, the range I had previously selected is now deselected. What am I doing wrong? Am I closing the dialog the wrong way? Alternatively, if the dialog is broken, is there a way to hand-code such ranges in some ini file? Thanks.

I just tried this on my system and it is working fine. Please look in the Sage.properties file for a line that starts with "cd/restricted_times" and let me know what it says.
Thanks, Tom

There is no "cd/restricted_times" line in my Sage.properties. Alphabetically, the closest lines are:
cd/profile_location=Select cd/run_slow=false I can try adding the line manually, but I don't know the time format. Is it something like: cd/restricted_times=00:00-00:59

cd/restricted_times=00:00 - 00:59 If you want multiple hours, separate them with a comma, like this: cd/restricted_times=00:00 - 00:59,01:00 - 01:59,23:00 - 23:59 I'd like to see what's going wrong. Set the plugin loglevel to Verbose, bring up the dialog that lets you set the restricted times, make some changes, then send me the logfile. You will also want to reset the loglevel to Warn or Trace. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks, will do, but what's the location of the log file you want?

The Sage logfile, sagetv_0.txt, in the Sage install directory.

Is this being set from a client? Check the sageclient.properties file and see if it is perhaps setting the property in there in error.

The properties line looks correct and it should be in Sage.properties not SageClient.properties.

Archives
I'm setting up Commercial Detector after not using it for some time and I don't remember if this mattered before...
When CD starts scanning for recordings, it adds my ARCHIVED videos to the list. I added ARCHIVES to the GROUP section to try to exclude them, but I figured I would ask if that will work since CD won't get to them for awhile (lots of recordings to do first) If thats not the right way, then is there a way to exclude my Archives? Thanks

There is no way to exclude archived items. Sorry.

I haven't put much thought into exactly how you'd do this, but this was my initial reaction to the dilemma: create fake EDL files for all the archived recordings. There are probably scripts or programs which could help create the fake files (same name, just different extension) based on a list/directory of existing files.

Well, I didn't think that was going to be an option, so I was trying to help the guy out!

God I miss this forum!!! Most helpful people on the web I tell ya!!!
Seriously though don't kill yourself trying to add that feature in (but if you have the time please do) Right now my Comskip is doing all my Archives so its going to be days before it gets back to my actual recordings. I could make EDL files like it was suggested, but I have so many TV Series ripped and Archived.... well if I have to then I'll try it out but if it was an included feature in Commercial Detector... that would make life easier... for me... but again, only if you have time. Thanks
