Am I doing something wrong?
I down loaded nielm_sageimdb_1.8.1.zip, unzip to C:\Program Files\SageTV\SateTV. Restarted SageTV and I still get errors doing IMDB name lookups. I am on SageTV 6. |

Hi. I still can't get it to save images from IMBD. I did a fresh 2nd Sage server on another box and only loaded the IMDB plugin. It does save all the data, just not the image. Jar versions up to date; I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here...

Is the problem that a jpg file isn't being saved, or that the image isn't being displayed?
For x:\path\MovieName.mpg the jpg's get downloaded as x:\path\MovieName.jpg John |

I'm looking over the logs. It could very well be a permissions issue on the share; if it can't update the properties file it can't save the image. I'll check a few things, but thanks!
Shawn

I take it back, I still can't get it to save the image.
Steps I've done on my test Sage Server: Completely uninstalled Sage 7, rebooted, removed the entire SageTV folder under the program files. Step 2 - Installed a brand new SageTV server, copied some tv show files (King of Queens) over to a local directory. Before I specified this as an import directory, I set the options "Files in the Import directories are IMPORTS" and installed the IMDB plugin. That's it, just those two settings from a vanilla install. It is saving the IMDB information but just not the image. I do have a thumbnail that shows up, but it's the default type that are in the "GeneratedThumbnails" directory. Here's the log in a zip file. I cannot get to save images, and it's driving me bonkers. Actually my kids are driving me bonkers.

Can anyone humor me and see if they can get an image to download with the IMDB plugin with Sage 7?
Thanks! Shawn

Shawn, it looks like it's not setting the filename correctly so it's probably saving the image file as C:\Documents and Settings\ssc\My Documents\My Videos\SageTV\.jpg
I'll look into it. John |

Thanks, let me know what I can change or any other help I can give. Hopefully this will help out others too in case there is a problem. It must be tough with IMDB making changes to their code all the time.
Thanks for any help you can provide! Shawn

The image is downloading correctly but Sage is not displaying it for me. For Cars.mp4 it downloads Cars.jpg but Sage doesn's show it. I have heard somebody from Sage saying that maybe the image should be named Cars.mp4.jpg???? I havent tried it.

I have tested it today and have discovered that it is in fact not saving the images to disk. This is with 7.0 fully updated. In the past during betas it used to save the images along side the media but for some reason this is not working anymore. The .properties files are created correctly.

Having left SageMC behind I am desperate to find a replacement for the ability to search and save IMDB data for my ripped DVDs. Thanks for your patience! Edit: Embarrassing solution! I had the plug-in "Hide Options Menu when tuning a Live TV show" installed - it appears to hide the options menu for Recordings and Videos too!

Saved Image Size/Quality
The latest version of the IMDB Search plugin works well for me. My only complaint is about the image size that is saves from IMDB.
When I look at what appears to be the same image on IMDB.com, even the small version on the main page is larger and higher quality than what the plugin saves on my system. As a thumbnail next in the title list it's acceptable, but when displayed on a large screen in the top right hand corner of the screen it's very poor. Can anyone tell me if the image size can be set on my system somewhere? I can't find any settings for this under "Detailed Settings > Customize". Or is some other plugin that "IMDB Search" uses responsible for this image size issue? It just seems wrong to go to the trouble of saving movies in high quality and watching on a large screen, and then displaying such low grade tiny images to represent them. Other than this I really like this plugin, and it saves a lot of time customizing my saved movie details. |

Carey, I can see why it's doing that. I'll try to make a change to the code to get the higher resolution image.

Thank you John. I very much appreciate you looking into that, and making the changes to accommodate a higher resolution image.

I have encounter problem with the latest revision of this plugin. I have a file "Empire of Wolves.mkv" and in folder view it shows with this same exact name (MBDiamond theme). If I use it to lookup the movie on IMDB, it leads me to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0402158/. When I choose to save the the found entry and return to the folder view, the file displays with empty name (as in ""). The name of the file remains the same, just Sage displays it as "".
