These themes are much more "involved" than I had thought... I thought this was related to the Phoenix Fanart but obviously not Working now but will try this later when I get home. Thanks again! |

I took your advise and ran the scale operation on the images. Trouble I'm having is that some of the images are now TINY.. Maybe 1" wide instead of the 6 they should be.
Are the images independent of which client? In other words, if I resized them once on the server, and then on the client resized, would the client accidentally resize the already resized images? or are they independent. What do I need to delete in order to get everything back to the original size so I can try to rescale again.

The tiny ones probably got scaled when Sage was running in a window (instead of full screen) - it scales them down to about 24% of the width of the UI when the scaling operation is done.
There is info on clearing the cache here.

Doesn't work now!
I had this plugin working fine, but since installing the newest beta release it's gone. I did a compete re-installation of SageTV. Just backed up my .frq files and wix.bin. Any ideas? Been trying for days and I just get the 'snapshot' of one of the frames in the video, although the description of the file seems accurate...

Sounds like you have a problem with the central fanart directory.
When you install BMT it resets the central fanart directory (sometimes) so you should check that in Detailed Settings -> Customize -> Phoenix Central Fanart Folder and make sure it's still pointing at the right spot. btl.

It's pointing at the right spot, and there are only two images in the folder. Seems like the directory isn't populating. Is there any way to force it to do so?

BMT?
Installed BMT I think....Metadata tools? Yes, it was pointing at a non-existant directory, so I created it c:\...\...\sage\sage\...\fanart and I pointed it there.
Installed the Phoenix Fanart for v. 7. Pointed it at the same directory. So far directory is still empty, and the videos are still showing me 'generated thumbnails'. When I installed Poenix Fanart the settings menu disappeared for BMT. Is this normal? BTW, over the weekend I removed sage entirely deleting all the directories and started from scratch. Just restored my wiz.bin. So I'm fairly certain there aren't an other plugins interfering here... |

Are you running a server and clients, or just a server? Or a server with extenders?
I think you'll probably have more luck with the central fanart folder defined as a network share unless you are just on a single machine - so \\server\fanart instead of c:\...... Also, have you told BMT to scan for meta-data? You have to GET the metadata before you can display it - thank you captain obvious. But BMT doesn't automatically go and fetch stuff for you* - you have to tell it to. *there are exceptions to this, but that's for another thread. btl.

BMT
I've never 'run' BMT before. Just downloaded the Phoenix plugin and it worked.
How do I 'run' bmt? Is it an .exe? I see some mention of some type of web interface thingy in the bmt posts, but no mention of how to run it, or where it is...can I do it from inside sage? Sorry if that seems a bit sarcastic, but honestly, I spent at least an hour this morning scanning through most of the posts on this site just looking for one that said how to access bmt. By the screen shot though, it looks like some type of web interface. Is it just a matter of entering some secret url in a browser? Like I said. Never had to do that before. Just installed the plugin and it worked. Boxee has found all the info. and cover art for these movies without having to resort to being some sort of metadata guru. It won't do live tv though. Just wanted to get sage to the point where I woudn't have to switch applications back and forth all the time... Thanks...hope you can help me outh here... |

By default BMT's web interface is here :
http://<sage server>:8080/bmt default credentials are the default jetty credentials - sage/frey For more info than that I suggest going over to the BMT section of the forums and reading some of the threads there. btl.

OK, I'll try that...
Some things I'm noticing... I can't change the Auto Metadata/Fanaart setting. It's stuck on disabled. The phoenix central fanart folder always resets to c:\program files\SageTV\SageTV. The metadata/fanart sources option doesn't allow you to select any sources. Is this normal? For instance ORTIS plugin has downloaded all the images to a folder, but I can't use it because I can't change the directory! Thanks |

Got it working, thanks...Just a matter of selecting one check box in the web ui. Would be nice to be able to do it from within sage!

I've got a minor issue. I have a linux server, and my primary use is on extenders. However, I've got a windows client which I use to play with studio. I loaded 7.0.12 beta, phoenix and BMT 4.2, and things are pretty nice. I'm able to set "default" pictures in BMT's web UI on the server, and it works perfectly on the extenders. However, on the windows client, I use a mapped drive pointing to the server's central fanart folder, and the windows client does not appear to figure out the "default" pictures set on the server. Any chance this can be adjusted?

cache\imagefactory\v7phoenix
I am trying to relocate the "cache" directory out of the "SageTV" directory. I am able to find property settings for all but the "cache\imagefactory\v7phoenix" directory. Is there a way to specify the location of this directory?

Hi Bialio,
I have racked my brains on what you meant by this and searched the menus for the settings. Could you please explain where I would set the configuration for the below mentioned. I am using it in extender mode with a HD200 hanging of the end. "2) Scale Phoenix Backgrounds - The default UI uses a very small image for what are usually 1920x1080 or 1280x720 background images that BMT fetches. If you select this option it will create a copy in the cache directory that is sized appropriately for your UI - this is especially important for extenders to make performance acceptable. Full clients don't necessarily need this. Note that if you don't do this it will still start building your cache, just not all at once. Scaling is a CPU intensive task, and will bring your server to a crawl until it has processed all your fanart" Hope you can help and all the best, Advocate86 |

Can someone explain the directory structure needed for imports? I don't want one big folder with everything dumped in it. I'd rather have one folder called "Imports", with subs "Movies", "TV Shows" etc etc...
Can I do this and still have it work??? Thx |

Does Phoenix fanart support episode images from thetvdb.com? I've got Phoenix fanart and BMT installed and just get season images for each episode.
