I actually like watching football games that are almost done or in the past. There is at least 20 seconds between everyplay that you can fast forward through.
I think direct TV offers a replay of games - every play, but with everything else cut out - and it only lasts about 1 hour. I come pretty close to that just using my 10 second skip ahead button. If I start watching a game that is about mid way through the 3rd quarter, I can usually "catch up" and finish about the same time as the game itself.
