Or here:
http://code.google.com/p/sagetv-addons/w/list

And using the search box at the top of the site, no results come up for a search of SJQ3:

Same thing using the wiki search:
http://code.google.com/p/sagetv-addo...nged+ChangedBy

You can't even find it doing a download search for SJQ3:
http://code.google.com/p/sagetv-addo...+DownloadCount

Yet, I actually did stumble onto the PDF download by searching "all" for "nothing" in the download search box. It was at that point I noticed that the download was named "sjqv3", so I even went back and used the search boxes to try and find that term, but... nada.

Shall we raise again?

This is fun!

I marked that page deprecated, for obvious reasons, so I'm not sure if that's affecting the ability to find it, but I gave it a quick try and this is what I came up with...

For what it's worth, searching the wiki for "sjq user guide" also returned the page with the links to the sjq2 and sjq3 guides.

Your turn...

ROFLMAO! Okay, so that does cause your link to show up.

But, that still begs the question as to why a search for "sjq3" doesn't cause anything to show up at all. Seems confusing to me... obviously. I also probably wouldn't have clicked on that link because, even when you posted it, I initially thought the lack of any number was because it was for the original SJQ (SJQ1, if you will). Additionally, why doesn't the SJQ3 guide show up like the SJQ2 guide does when you search for "deprecated" or "user guide"?

At least I know I will never be lost in finding it again.

After 3 months, I've finally given up on trying to get SJQv4 working for me (I still greatly appreciate the help Slugger offered in that regard, though!), so I'm going to try reverting back to SJQv3. I know I need to manually install the plugin, but I'm not entirely sure how to do that. I believe it included creating some sort of "standard" xml or stv file and placing that in the Sage directory, but I'm obviously not clear on the specifics. I'm also assuming I'll need to do something with this file.

Also, which version of SageAlert works with SJQv3?

It seems I committed the final generated plugin manifest for SJQv3 to svn. So you need to add this manifest to your SageTVPluginsDev.xml file. But you need to increase the version on line 20 to something above the SJQv4 version number so the Sage plugin manager won't bother you with updates, etc. I'd suggest setting it to 99.0.

From there, you just need to go into Sage and install version "99.0" of SJQ plugin and that should be it. I say "should" because it's untested and YMMV.

Honestly, I don't remember. My guess is the last version of 1.x, but I don't remember. It might be earlier builds of 2.x. This doc might answer the question. Though if I had to guess, I'd say 1.x. You might have to go read the SJQv3 source code to figure it out. If it is 1.x, you'd have to manually install that version since the zip(s) definitely won't be installable via the Sage plugin manager. "Manual" means installing the plugin as you would have had to for Sage v6, the details of which I do not remember. I think SageAlert 1 was written as a J2EE app for Jetty, which, if I'm right, means you'd need to install the war file into jetty. There should be an included context file, etc. if that's the case, but, again, I really don't remember and any research is up to you.

Thanks for all that, Slugger. What's somewhat scary is that all of what you wrote makes perfect sense and I believe I'll be able to figure that out much quicker and easier than getting SJQv4 working (except for the source code part, that is).

I got the SJQv3 plugin installed again, but there's one thing I'm not sure of and was hoping you'd be able to help... where were the rulesets and client settings saved? I still have all my old files from SJQv3 and Sage itself and was hoping I'd be able to reuse them, but I can't figure out where that SJQ information is located. Any idea?

If you have a copy of the old SQLITE DB you can download the SQLITE browser and browse the DB.

Thanks, nyplayer. I had copied the entire DB over and that got the server settings back, but I still needed to find the client settings and that little program worked perfectly. I'm back up and running with SJQv3 with only about 4 days of effort (mostly related to certificate issues I had forgotten how to resolve).

Now I just need to figure out how to get a version of SageAlert working with this, but that's not nearly as pressing as getting SJQ running once more!

One other thing, I'm getting the following messages in the SJQ server logs:

Code:
2013-02-09 14:00:21,233 WARN [FieldFileExists]: Listing of '\\Mediaserver\6_2\DVR' returned null!
2013-02-09 14:00:21,545 WARN [FieldFileExists]: Listing of '\\Mediaserver\6_3\DVR' returned null!
2013-02-09 14:00:22,045 WARN [FieldFileExists]: Listing of '\\Mediaserver\5_1\DVR' returned null!
These paths are from my old server, so I'm guessing it's most likely due to the fact that I copied the SQLITE DB directly from the old server to the new one. If that's the case, is there a way to remove those references? If that's not the case, any idea where else they might be coming from?

UPDATE: It looks like I had some orphaned recordings after the move to the new server. I'll try locating those files on the old drives and restoring them, to see if that clears up the warning message.

I manually installed SageAlert 1.0.2.781 and it shows up in the /apps lookup for Jetty, but I'm getting a 503, service unavailable message when I try to open SageAlert. I suspect that SageAlert v1 never worked with SageTV v7, so I may be out of luck with getting emails about SJQv3 failures.

You're probably missing a dependency or two. Check the sage and/or jetty debug logs for exceptions about missing classes, etc. I don't ever remember running SA 1.x on Sage 7.x so it just may not be possible, but if you have all the deps installed then I don't see why it wouldn't.

I'm not sure if I did a reboot of the server or restarted Sage, but everything fell into place at some point and alerts are working. I'm going to try the first version of SageAlert2 just to see if that one works.

Thanks for the help!

I have a recording named "MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts" and a properties file named "MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts.properties".

The file cleaner is set to clean this regex: edl|jpg|csv|properties|my|log|txt
When no match exists for these extensions: ts|mpg|mkv

Does anyone have any idea why the properties file keeps getting deleted for this recording? I have a few others with this exact issue and BMT keeps recreating the properties file, so it's an endless loop.

My guess is that the file cleaner is looking for MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts.ts when it encounters MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts.properties. The props file would have to be named MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.properties for the file cleaner to consider it attached to MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts. That's just my guess. You'd have to trace thru this file. I took a quick look at it and I didn't do a great job of commenting it and since it's been a few years since I've looked at that code, the answer isn't obvious to me, but if I were guessing, that's my guess. A Java debugger would answer the question rather quickly.

Assuming you're not going to setup a debugger and trace the code (nor am I ), the other option, assuming you're on Linux or Windows Vista+ (i.e. won't work on XP) is to create a symlink named MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts.ts and point it to MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts. If you do that, I'd expect the file cleaner will stop deleting the props file. Though that won't do much for you other than confirm the bug in the file cleaner, unless you were going to create symlinks for all recordings, which would just create more files you'd need to cleanup. Though the file cleaner could be told to cleanup the symlinks, I think. But I'd be very careful about setting that up, if you were going to try it.

EDIT: I see in your sig you're server is WHS. Don't think WHS supports symlinks (via the mklink command). But instead you can just create a plain text file named MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts.ts (not ...ts.ts.txt). Just the existence of a file named that should prevent the props file from being deleted and would confirm the bug in the file cleaner.

That has always been the case with SJQ3 cleaning up property files and for that case it even cleans up xml files created by Nielm plugin.... Why even put the properties in the file cleaner when the CMT plugins cleans up orphaned property files?

I'm not sure why it would be doing that, unless it's something in the cleaner code, which obviously I wouldn't know. I know the files don't have double extensions. The weird thing is that I have many other .ts files and their properties files don't get deleted.

But instead you can just create a plain text file named MyCousinVinny-4973975-0.ts.ts (not ...ts.ts.txt). Just the existence of a file named that should prevent the props file from being deleted and would confirm the bug in the file cleaner.
The sig is extremely out of date. I'm not running WHS anymore. Thanks for the ideas, though!

I never realized that CMT cleans up property files. I know I used to have tons of orphaned ones, so I set up SJQ to clean them up. I'll take a look at CMT's settings to make sure I don't have something turned off. Or, maybe I just assumed CMT still wasn't cleaning those up and it actually has been.

Thanks for that info!
