Just install the PC software, it'll recognize that as a device. Also for playOn to work you need the PC software installed on Internet Explorer and have watched a some of a movie to make sure it works.

I'm havin' trouble with Netflix TV shows - I got them to show up with the +3 change to the .properties file for the Instant Queue, but when I try to watch Ep01 of Spartacus it gets about 10 seconds in and then just dies.

I was able to watch it from netflix websight, and even on placeshifter. Where it fails is on the HD200 (and 100 presumably, but haven't tested there).

Any idea what might be going on? At first I thought it might be something to do with the rating (TV-MA) but since it seems to work OK in placeshifter I start to doubt that.....

FYI,

Looks like something changed on Playon with regards to ESPN. the links don't seem to bring anything up anymore and if I browse through the HD200 it appears the path is no longer valid.

After a second call to netflix I am being told that the instant queue is not availible at this time. She talked to the instant play people then told me that they can't add it either, but originally it was an automatic thing after you watched a few movies it showed up. She said it depended on what the marketing people wanted on how that worked and it is not available now.
Has anyone else heard this?

Red face Get it fixed.

Submit a trouble report to Playon!

If they cannot help, you might want to try using the device code for your XBOX, PS3 or Wii, but I would not recommend it.

Well I called netflix again and basically got the same response that I posted in post # 1360. This time the guy told me that the instant queue is generated once an approved device is activated and to get that instant queue I would have to enter a device number. So at this time I am about done trying to make this work with my netflix account unless anyone else has any more idea's. Yesterday the lady closed out my account and restarted it as a new account and it still made no difference.
Thanks
Wayne

Just checked it out by starting a new test account and sure enough I couldn't get an instant queue to show up either. I guess the next step would be to call and threaten to cancel if you can't have an instant queue.

Clean up of tmp file

Hello,

I have notied that when viewing online videos (from Hulu) a temporary file is copied to "C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Local Settings\Temp" directory. Also temporary files can be found in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaMall\Media\<ip>\" and "C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\" directories. Over time these files (which are large in size) can completely fill drive C.

Is this behavior intended? Is there any automatic clean-up mechanism built into either Sage or this plugin for on-line video files?

Regards,
Michael

Michael,

The temp files are normal. The files SHOULD be deleted each time Sage exits but I have found that it is not 100% reliable so you should periodically clean out those directories manually.

I'm working on the next version of my Malore Online Browser and it will have the ability to automatically clean up those temp files.

Tom

Update to my post above #1368. After a 4th call to netflix this guy tonight seamed to really want to help me out. But he also said that he could not turn on the instant tab. But he did tell me a work around that I think will work. He told me to create a 2nd profile on my neflix account and then go into the profiles and tell the first profile that you did not want any dvd's assigned to it and to tell the 2nd profile that you did want the dvd's. Then I have to select the instant video I want and click on the icon or writing above the icon and in the next window click on add to dvd queue this does put it under your queue, but they will not send out the dvd because of your profile saying no dvd's. So at this time I think this will work.

Sorry guys I really haven't looked through the entire 69 pages....

But I would like to know how I can get plugins that are added to Playon to show up in Sage?

I've added several using playonplugins.com but they are not listed under sage at all.

Here is my response to a similar question earlier in the thread...

This requires you install the plugins in Playon when applicable. Second, it requires a person to modify the UPnP feeds to add the information for the shows found in the playon plugin. This is required so that Sage can find and display the feeds.

Let's looks at the Comedy Central feed for example. You need the plugin installed on the Playon software, but EP has updated the Sage feeds to show any applicable Comedy Central show. If EP hadn't updated the feeds, or if the Comedy Central plugin wasn't installed then you wouldn't be able to browse or play any of the shows within SageTV.

What this means is that you cannot simply install any/all the Playon plugings and expect to watch the shows in Sage. It requires someone taking the effort to breakdown the feeds and provide the required information to EP so he can distribute it out in his regular UPnP feed updates.

I hope this helps explain it.

Netflix black screen after a few minutes.

Anyone seeing an issue with Netflix recently? Since the 12th of April I can get the video to play for a few seconds then goes black. I can FF and it plays a second or 2 more but that's it. Hulu plays fine and netflix does play fine in a browser. I'm not sure where to start looking here. It's not the pause thing - I do hit play and pause to try to get it working.

Edit:
Just found out that this is a known issue with Playon and the recent windows security updates.

EP, would you consider adding a list view for browsing? It takes an awful long time to navigate 'browse netflix' with only eight thumbnails at a time.

EP et al

I am still attempting to get the plugins that are added to Playon to show up in Sage ... I saw in an earlier post that it took .... "someone taking the effort to breakdown the feeds and provide the required information to EP so he can distribute it out in his regular UPnP feed updates."

Does anyone have the steps on how to breakdown the feeds

Dinki,

If you want a list view and some other goodies, you need to look into Tmiranda's Malore Online Video Browser.
