Standard STV thumbnail text background

I know this is kind of off topic, but could someone please be kind enough to tell me the exact procedure to change the standard STV thumbnails' text background from a ugly bright white transparent color (which is hard to read) to use a dark smoke colored overlay for the thumbnail text (like the pictures used in this thread shown below)? If it's a bitmapped image, maybe someone could PM it to me or post it here. If it's just a setting in a properties file, maybe someone could tell me what exact hex value to use to get the same gray color and respective alpha transparency.

Thanks,
MKANET

I believ the thumbnail text is hardcoded in the STV. You need to change it using Studio.

Why is everyone having show's like Community show up in their NBC group? I'm using the latest version, but I don't have that. Hmm... any ideas? Thanks!

Its not just you, that's an old screen shot from a feed file version that I made manually. The new hulu feed is automatically generated and I forgot to include Community in the list of shows to put in a a special category. Same thing with V on ABC and White Collar on USA. I'm terrible at following up with dev promises (), but i'll try and crank out a feed update over the thanksgiving break.

Where are things with regards to support for television series on Netflix?
Iirc there was some issue being able to access television series because they are episodes or something.
So, is this still an issue? Is there some hack I need to make to make it work?

Thanks,

Mitch

To get TV shows to work in Netflix i'll need Sage implement a feature request I put in for generating dynamic sub menus in the Online Service menu. Right now I can only display a pre-determined, hardcoded, menu structure which only works if I know in advance that a certain folder is going to be there.
Code:
Netflix -> Queue -> Videos List = Good
Netflix -> Queue -> The Office Season 1 -> Episodes List = Bad
Sage seemed to indicate that it would be possible to add, but since they're hard at work on their own features right now I wouldn't expect anything in the next beta cycle.

I noticed a lot of instances(about 10) of Upnp2podcast.exe running in my task manager. Is it normal for them to stay running? Sometimes I see them close on their own but some seem to get stuck running.

There should be two instances per run, but they should go away when once the video list comes up.

I've been trying to resolve this in between doing other things and sorry if this has already been posted in this thread but there are just too many pages to go through.

All of a sudden possibly after doing an stv update but I'm not too sure the online videos stopped working. First I thought that maybe it was downloading the links as some shows were able to download such as CSI but a lot of other shows that were working are no longer working. When I click on them it just keeps on saying "The Video List is Downloading".

I'm using the latest version of the plugin, STV, and SageMC. I've tried also running UPnP2Podcast.exe manually and tried extracting the plugin back into the SageTV folder but no luck. Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. Latest STV yada yada. Took the same steps above. No dice. I can reboot and the first time I run it I can list the shows but after that nothing. I do notice that for each time I try to list the shows 2 more instances of UPnP2Podcast.exe show up in my running programs. Keep doing it and they pile up until it starts slowing my system down.

I've seen this as well. I've had instances when the "The Video List is Downloading" never returns results. It looks like when I hit Cancel or the screensaver eventually kicks in (which automatically cancels the download), the UPnP2Podcast.exe does not stop running in my task manager.

I've noticed the List is downloading thing (had it happen last night, worked on some things, not on others), and just checked my system for UPnP2Podcast.exe's in memory, had 7, all with 0 CPU usage. Killed them all but haven't checked to see if I can see any videos yet (I'm at work, and won't have time to check 'till this evening).

Thanks for the quick responses. At least its good to know I'm not the only one. I was wondering why my WHS was running slower than usual and when I checked task manager as well I had about 6 instinces of upnp2ppodcast.exe running as well. Still no working videos.

Did yours guys problems start happening after the last STV update??

Do you all have the latest PlayOn? They have released two updates just in the past 5 days or so. Make sure you have the latest.

Note: If you use scripts, the "options" menu (where it shows what you have available) has changed.

Netflix not listing videos - want to troubleshoot

I love this product and it works well (BTW Playon is having a sale now on their product, half price, coupon code HOLIDAY)

I want to troubleshoot this problem so I can learn how this works, so my question is in two parts.

First the problem is that when I navigate to my "Browse Netflix" then Documentary then Historical Documentaries, it says there are no videos.

Question 1: If I am on the Netflix website and it has videos listed under this heading (Documentary>>Historical Documentaries), should there be videos under SageTV/PlayOn? In other words, is there a one to one relationship between online and SageTV? (If not, then skip question 2).

Question 2: Where do I start troubleshooting this: SageTV, STV, PLayon, or UPnP?
Playon: V2.59.3614.60
SageTV: V6.6.2.218
STV: SageTV3 V6.6.2.22 (11/17/2009)

I have reloaded everything at least once and rebooted several times. I have done the troubleshooting steps and I can summarize.
Symptom #1: No videos are appearing when you select a menu item. - File exists and has entries but no long entries just: <itunes:subtitle>No videos found for UPnP search string (PlayOn:Netflix:Browse Genres:^Documentary$:^Historical.Documentaries$:+2)
Symptom #2 and #3 are ok.
Symptom #4 does not apply.

So, unless there is a quick answer, I would like to troubleshoot this but would like some direction.

Also, the video list seems to take a very long time to download. 15 seconds or more for most menu options. Is this normal?

Thanks a bunch.

Don

I just updated it two days ago and their looks like another update. Looks like that fixed it. I'll do more testing over the next couple of days but so far so good. Thanks!!!

If this helps anyone, I hardcoded the .properties files for two of the Netflix shows that were in my queue (Leverage Seasons 1 & 2 and Lost Season 1). It might be enough to at least show people what they should look like. Then just change the shows as necessary to fit your queue.

I would imagine that you need to keep these as separate files rather than editing the Netflix properties files. Otherwise you risk having it overwritten by UPnP2Podcast. But this will add the category "Shows Queue" in "Browse Netflix" on the Online menu.
