At first I had nothing but problems when using my old P4 Dell PC. After about a week of constant lockups I decided to move Sage over to my other PC, listed above, and have not had a singe lock up. I am currently at 100% stability. [Knock on wood]


Here is my old "bad" setup requested by stanger89.

  • Motherboard: Whatever is in a Dell Optiplex GX280 with P4 2.8GHz
  • HD PVR Rev: D2 (x2)
  • HD PVR Driver: 1.5.6.0
  • Source: DirecTV HD H21-200 720p fixed (x2) (Also tried native and 1080i fixed)
  • Blaster: USB-UIRT
  • Audio: SPDIF/Analog (Tried them both)
  • SageTV: 6.6.2
  • OS: Vista Ultimate 32 bit

My issue is that the HD-PVR seems to shut itself down and restart somewhat regularly...leaving about a 5 minute gap in my recordings (quite annoying). I don't know if this is due to poor USB throughput, backlog, or just the HD-PVR overheating...
