If you're using an Nvidia card try rolling back to the original install drivers.
I'll give that a shot. I forgot how do you force sage to records the files as .ts and not mpg?

Thanks,

I can't remember, sorry. I was thinking it was the default format. The container probably doesn't matter though. Roll back the drivers and see how it goes. Sometime this weekend I'll post back with the specifics of the driver version number.

.ts is the default for the HD PVR. I doubt that you can change this. What you can change though is the container for mpeg2 based recordings by modifying the mmc/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream property. If you set this to false then your ATSC/QAM recordings will use the ts container.

Qian,

My client will soon be on Win 7 64, but my server is remaining XP Pro SP3. Should I use this update on the server?

How do I determine which version .ax I'm already using

All,

This is a basic question. I'm working on getting SageTV firewire recordings to playback well on Win7. I would like to test some different versions of mpegdemux.ax and TSsplitter3.0.ax. But how do I see which version I'm currently using?

All,

Another question. How do I download the various versions of the .ax/.dll files? Do I have to find the various links in various threads. Or is there a central area where all the different versions reside?

I have to report another bug. Some (not all) recordings are broken. They are complete (well, they seem complete) but it is impossible to seek in them: it is only possible to start from the beginning, and if I try to use the seek bar, the image freezes.

This bug is present since the beginning, it is not a regression. I'm currently using update 10.

I didn't report the bug earlier because I was busy trying to pinpoint the cause: it seems to be completely random, some recordings work, some don't. It doesn't matter which channel I choose, or if I'm doing anything during the recording. I am completely unable to reproduce it.

However, while searching for clues in the Native.log, I found something very interesting: all broken recordings exhibit this line in the log, and the working ones do not:

Code:
11/23/2009 20:57:07 PTS-FIX: PTS is out of range at 0:24:05.955'611.1 pos:8722408144, PCR is ajusted
11/29/2009 22:31:45 PTS-FIX: PTS is out of range at 1:48:43.095'333.3 pos:40578274652, PCR is ajusted
11/30/2009 21:34:55 PTS-FIX: PTS is out of range at 0:51:54.308'344.4 pos:18786523596, PCR is ajusted
My Native.log contains info for about 10 recordings. Out of these 10, 3 are broken. Guess what? Only these 3 have this line ("PTS is out of range") in the log.

Complete logs are available on request.

Each version's zip file is posted in the same place.. just change the number in the Download URL.

I've been following this thread closely since update 1. I can't find an easy way to get VC-1 files to play from within sage using the new mpegdemux.ax. Previously, I was able to use Haali splitter and the "WMVideo Decoder DMO" to render VC-1 M2TS files. Without Haali, I am unable to manually assemble a VC1 graph using MpegDemux.ax and a number of different VC1 decoders like the PVD VC1 decoder. It's puzzling.

From what I can surmise, VC-1 is not being presented properly or in the same manner as Haali was doing. Maybe not WVC1?

Has anyone been able to play a VC1 M2TS using the Update 10 demux? This is a major problem as nearly half of my collection is VC1.

The demuxer does use the VC-1 media type instead of WVC1 (required by the WMV DMO). I haven't tried it with the PDVD VC-1 decoder, but it works with the ArcSoft TMT one just fine.

I have an issue with my DVB channels (that i grab via network encoding). Its a H264 stream with AC3 audio. For some reason when i first tune in to a channel, it shows the video incomplete, like if it was 4:3 (cropped) with 2 black bars on the sides, the funny thing is that if I press lets say the Guide buttong, and then return to the video full screen, it now show correctly full screen. Ive attached a copy of my log MpegDemux file (not sure if its related to this or anything elase.. someone care to guide me if im in the correct thread?)

I had the MpegDemux 2.0 from the default install, and ive upgraded to the latest one posted in here..

As a followup to my VC-1 issue..

Thanks to Babgvant, I was able to use the TMT decoder included with my HDAV card to attach to the update 10 sage demuxer. VC-1 playing well.

Now I need to figure out how to get Sage to default to the HD audio track without having to start the movie then manually switch to the track via menu. LOL.

Thank you Bab for the help.

All,

I'm using firewire recordings from Motorola DCH3200 boxes. My network encoder recording graph is using TSsplitter to convert STB transport stream to program stream. I downloaded update10 and installed. I also replaced TSsplitter with TSsplitter3 in my graph. After doing so, I get "no signal" on all stations. When I go back to TSsplitter, all works again. Is there some reason TSsplitter3 will not work for firewire recordings? Or am I doing something wrong?

You mean "2 black bars on the screen", not button right? Like the picture is masked by 2 vertical bars on the left and right making it 4x3 instead of 16x9? Do you have an Nvidia graphics card?

If that's what you're talking about, I have the exact same problem. But it only happens with Nvidia cards, not ATI for some reason. My problem happens with Dish H.264 1080i streams, which are really 1440x1080i. Which, if you do the math on the pixels, is actually 4x3.

I've reported it to support in the past, but they didn't address it. I get around it by modifying the STV. If you've ever modified the STV, you can do the same. I use the MediaPlayerFileLoadComplete hook to know when playback has started. Then I use GetMediaFileFormatDescription to determine if it's H.264 1080i. If it is H.264 1080i I wait a few seconds, then call SageCommand("TV") followed by another SageCommand("TV"). That makes the mask go away.

It get's the job done, but it's still anoying.

I think if the demux could detect these resolutions and alter the video info header to indicate that it's 16x9 instead of 4x3, the problem would go away. If that didn't work, it could "fake" the resolution to 1920x1080.

Exactly the same prob... all the other content plays fine, its just DN HD Lite... and yes I have an Nvidia 9400 card, hopefully this guess addressed, its kinda annoying for me to be playing with the control everytime I change a channel, or the programs advanced on the EPG (and retunes).

Please keep us up to date on this issue. I'm also using firewire recording and use TSsplitter to convert to program streams.

Is there a way to use both versions of TSsplitter on one system? I'm having problems tuning one channel on my HDHR and I've heard this beta fixes that problem. At the same time, I don't want to break my firewire recording.

Update: Actually, looking at this closer, if I just install this without removing the existing TSSplitter.ax file in the \Common directory, will sgraphrecorder just keep using my old version of TSSplitter?

Hey Qian,
Any chance you can update the demuxer to work with the newest version of CoreAVC? Sage sees the codec but crashes when playing through it's own demuxer. When playing a downloaded video and using matroska splitter it works great.

Sorry, but what do you mean by this? Are you saying that CoreAVC doesnt work with the native patch and watching HD-PVR streams?
