I haven't yet tried this, but I intend to do so this weekend. Thanks for putting this together, since this is definitely something I will use regularly. This is probably WAY out of scope for your--as you put it--simple plugin, but I would find something very useful and wanted to mention it.
I don't subscribe to Netflix or have Boxee, so my household keeps an eye out for movies on PPV or new Blu-ray releases and sets up favorites for them (soon to be one-time favorites, of course). Frequently, the movies aren't in the guide yet or are on PPV channels, which I don't list in the guide since SageTV would try to record them. Is there any way to pull data from IMDB to set up a fairly specific one-time favorite? For example, the rating, one of the main stars, and/or the year of release, plus the title? Getting this info correctly into a favorite is a royal pain, but if you don't do it, trying to record a movie like "Red" or "Paul" causes about 100 other things to be recorded.
As I said, this is probably nowhere near what you had in mind for this plugin, but maybe it will cause some good discussion.
