First off GREAT TOOL!!!! I've just started playing around with it and i think it's fantastic. I do have a couple of questions though.
I'm using the beta9 version with my default.txt saying /genPropertyFile /useOriginalName but the original file name isn't being used in the properties file. For example I put the avi called fantastic 4 - Rise of the silver surfer over the mediascraper.exe and in the properties file under title it says 4: Rise of the silver surfer. Secondly I'm not getting any genre information returned in the properties file, my file or info file? I'm not sure if the genre info is supposed to show up in the properties file, but if it's not can this be added? I know it's supposed to be there on the my file. Other than those two hiccups this is a great addition to Sage. Way to go!!! Thanks in advance for any help with the above problems. -sean |

I think the problem is not with the XML... I think the problem is when you are passing the filename to the SageTV webserver it can't understand the commas in the filename.

Further to my much earlier post re: scraping data from TheTVDB for the TV series M*A*S*H - I definitely understand the programming challenges preventing a solution to this. Darn, if it was a two season show I could pound out .MY files manually....
Would it be possible to somehow over-ride use of the TV Series name and instead use the series ID that TheTVDB uses? http://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=70994 RLW |

Blood+
I am having issues with episode 20 from Ghost Hunt... it is telling me mediaScraper is Atempting 5 times and then file not found failure. Is there something I should do for this?
It will also not recognize "Code Geass" at all... is there more to the name that I a missing? I didn't see it in theTVDB... Last edited by rabbitslayer; 03-19-2009 at 11:32 AM. |

Wow, this utility works really well. I love it. And I see that there's the ability to actually make these files recordings, too, so I dont have to differentiate between a show generated by Sage and a show thats imported from some other source. Awesome.
I'm having one problem -- battlestar galactica S4 E9 seems to be crashing this for me, and it continues to crash each time rather than passing over it. How can I make it ignore this one (and Im guessing, any other files in my large collection) when I run and then update the properties files? thanks! Cory EDIT: actually, it seems to be multiple battlestar galactica files that end up returning a 404 error (after 5 retries). For now I'll have to move the whole 5 gb of files, but I'd like to come up with something more permanent? Last edited by bluenote; 03-19-2009 at 06:39 PM. |

Couple of questions and observations
I just gave this a try tonight. I wanted to use it to organize incoming files into my archive folder and nothing more. My defaults.txt is as follows:
Code:
/baseFolder "F:\Archived TV" /organizeFiles /organizeBaseFolder "E:\temp\moved" 2.) When it moved the files to "E:\temp\moved" it created a subfolder called "TV", then placed each file appropriately in there. Why did it create the "TV" folder? example: Code:
E:\temp\moved\TV\Scrubs\Season 8 Code:
The.Daily.Show.03.19.2009.PDTV.XviD-iHT.[VTV].avi 4.) Can I add multiple shows into a folder.override? 5.) Would it be possible to name shows in a custom format? Code:
Episode##-EpisodeTitle.xxx Code:
SeriesName\Season ##\##-EpisodeTitle.xxx Last edited by kricker; 03-20-2009 at 08:25 PM. |

I think he is just pretty busy coming out with the next version that supports the phoenix api's and the new layout for fanart.

A dated show would always have 2 by 2 by 4 where a season and episode should only ever have 2 by 2 number format.

I might add it in eventually when I do some stuff for matching Sage Recordings based off of their original airdate.

I am trying to get mediaScraper working but apparently thetvdb.com is down? Anyone have any idea what's going on with the site?

Can anyone suggest what to do about 404 errors exiting out the process for me? I love this app but running it folder by folder is not preferred.
Thanks! Cory |

thetvdb was back up last night at about 9pm EST(if not earlier, thats just when I tried) and it seems much faster. They may have been doing server updates.

I apologize if I missed this but will MediaScraper use the new phoenix API folder structure or will it still put the fanart into the same folder as the media file?

I've got everything updated for the new phoenix folder structure, I'm just on vacation right now and can't upload it. I'll take care of it right when I get back on sunday.
