iMovies does not do the imdb lookups. It relies on the data that is present in Sage's DB for movie info. You can use the imdb tools in SageMC to add metadata for your videos to Sage's DB though.

Will this import be updated to work with the Phoenix fan art folders?

Yes, I will be looking into adding support for the new fan art folders. Is my assumption correct that you want to use the posters as cover art? If so that should be a pretty easy change. I will add a configuration setting to either use the built in cover art or the fan art posters for cover art.

Is there something else with the new fan art that I should be looking into supporting?

That would be great. The images are in the fanart/"movietitle"/poster folder, IIRC the images are now randomly named and there can be more than one inside this folder.

Here is a new beta of iMovies version 1.1.0. There is not a ton of changes, but there is some bug fixes, and enhancements to the customization of the screen layout. I have added support for the phoenix APIs to iMovies. When iMovies searcher for cover art it will go in this order. FanArt->Sage Cover Art->Generic DVD Cover.

Let me know if there are any big issues with this release. If not I will post it as a release version.

Thanks

How to I filter the list to show only my movies folder?

All my folders are under one import in sage.

If you press the up arrow from the main iMovies screen a filter menu appears. You can scroll thru a few different options windows with the right and left key. One of the options is folder filter. Once a folder filter is selected iMovies shows only the files in the selected folder, and all of it's sub-folders.

All filters are persistent, and will be set when you come back to iMovies the next time.

Thank you for the feedback!

I hope to keep posting a few different betas over the next couple of months/weeks as I attempt to find time to add some new features.

I have to say this is one of my favorite imports. It really enhances the look and feel of Sage. Are there any plans to support displaying fanart backgrounds while cycling between movies? Thanks again!

Thanks White94Cobra,

I have thought about adding a context sensitive fan art feature. I will try to get to it sooner than later. I have a few things that are higher on my list, like user ratings and file media type info like in the AMIS screen.

Just out of curiosity is your screen name White 94 Cobra because you own a white 94 cobra?

Sounds good... another cool feature would be to cycle through the fanart if there are multiple images.

I used to own a 94 Cobra - but sold it a few years ago. Black06TL didn't sounds as good

I 've had three over the past 22 years. I'm sure once the kids are grown I'll get my fourth

I would like the fanart backgrounds aswell is possible.

I cannot reduce the font size for the description pannel... it goes up only.

I want to make it 9 items accross but 7 is the max.

Can you please also add the subtitle icon with the media icon you mentioned.

Thanks for you great work.

I guess Fanart is supposed to work already, yet I get nothing displayed.

Also the description panel style choices are limited. The style1 has the cover image repeated (which looks weird) and style2 has a strange grey backround, and the text size cannot be adjusted at all.

I really like where this import is going though... it's miles ahead of the default folder view.

Thanks for you great work.

The font size is circular. Once you get to the max size it will go back to the minimum. (I know. I was lazy about this one. At some point I will make it go both directions.)

I will add some more items.

Subtitle icon? Can you give me some info on this. What imports show this now. How can I make one of my movies have subtitles so I can test this?

Thank you for the feedback.

What do you mean Fanart is supposed to work? If you are asking about Fanart posters then yes. I you are talking about Fanart backgrounds then no.

You need to see panel1 in the context of the layout it was created for. If you look at the screen caps for version 1 of the import you might agree it makes sense where it was used. But I must state I am not a very good graphic artist. That is why I give the community the ability to change the layout of the screen and share with other users.

The style2 panel is a new feature and is a work in progress. I want to add parental ratings on the right hand side, and I want to add media info icons on the right. I would be interested in making the background a skinable image, but again I am not a graphics artist, so I am working with my limited skills to make something kinda appealing.

Thank you again for the feedback,
Josh

I have a couple other things I wanted to mention about your import:

I would like the scrolling to be fast after a certain amount of time. Right now it seems like the client is having a hard time and trying to keep up with the animations... Not sure if that can be fixed?

I would also like to remove everything in the description panel expect for the actual description. Maybe this can be an option?

I would also love if this could adhere to the new fanart and display the backgrounds.

I hope you continue development and advancement of this import, because the cool factor is definitely there.

Thanks!

The captions import shows them well for the default stv...

Maybe all the images could be displayed together, captions, rating, file format, etc. The ones from AMIS.
