You guys have me wondering if my new D1 unit has this power button issue. I've been having nothing but problems keeping it running and I first thought it was overheating, since I can't hear the fan running (assuming it has one like my C2 does). But, I also just noticed today how sensitive the D1's power button is. I swear if I blow on it, it'll probably turn off. I'll have to mention this when I hear back from Hauppauge about the "fan".

Skirge01,
I'm the only one that I've read of reporting a "power button issue". In my case, there's absolutely no movement to the "button". My initial thought was that there was a strain sensor type switch under it, but a friend has one too (HD-PVR) and he said his power button actually moves. And when I called Hauppauge about the inability to keep it turned on, they also said the power button should move. Initially, I was able to turn it on/off by putting pressure on the non-moving button, on the case above or below it, or a downward pressure on the top left corner of the case. None of which should be possible according to Hauppauge. I also noticed that my power connection seemed to be "offset" in that it was really a bit of a struggle to get the power supply connector to insert into the HD-PVR. I'm guessing this was all related and that my unit was assembled incorrectly. According to UPS Tracking, my unit is on the truck and out for delivery to Hauppauge this morning. Oh, and you mentioned a "fan"? I've never heard one in mine (only had it for 2 weeks) and I didn't see any sign of the "typical" fan input/output grill on my Rev D1 that I mailed off yesteday? pat----

Well, you can add me to the mix of people having the recordings just stop by themselves with the same error and description as the original poster.
I have a new media pc for this: Gigabyte EP45-DS3R Intel Q4400 (Quad 2.4) Not o/c Two x 1GB OCZ pc2-5300 ram ATI 3780HD latest drivers OS and PVR store on seperate sata drives Latest prod version of sagetv Latest hd-pvr drivers 1053 Hardware ver D1 Optical Audio, AC3 Encode Windows XP Sp3 I have the STB hard-coded to 1080i, however I notice some times during commercials the audio sync gets messed up and I have to skip forward/backward to reset it. This makes me think that the STB is doing something funky when the broadcast attempts to change res. I don't see how the HDPVR could be influenced by SD res commercials any other way, it should be transparent. One thing I'll conceed is that I do play games occasionally on this computer and change the monitor resolution (games do that) back and forth. However I don't see why this would affect the HDPVR which just streams raw data over USB. Sage is minimized when I game, and I'm not gaming while it is recording. I've tried to make a habbit of rebooting after any gaming session, but I haven't linked it to gaming 100%. From reading other people's posts I guess I would have to classify mine as fairly stable, it locks up only once every couple weeks. Of course I don't watch A LOT of tv, mostly it just records. Another problem I've seen is that if I'm watching a show while it is recording, there is a chance that the last 10 seconds the video will lock up and will either unfreeze after the end of the 10 seconds or the computer will BSOD after a couple minutes. I cannot close sage or end task it. And another thing i've noticed is that when I turn my TV on it causes the HD PVR to stop recording for about 5 seconds. The monitor is connected to the DVI connection on the video card. I am not using the HDMI-DVI that came with the video card, I am using a HDMI-DVI cable. I don't need to stream audio over the HDMI since I don't want sound to come out of the TV anyway. I really don't understand why turning the TV on would cause the HD PVR to stop recording for 5 seconds. Turning the TV off does not have the same effect. And lastly, WTF does sage delete unfinished recordings? I had 1.75 hours of the season premier recorded when the HDPVR went tits up, then sage did me the honor of chucking everything it had recorded so far. Gee thanks!
