I have removed all software that may use the tuner i.e. DVBViewer I then removed all reference to the tuner from the sage.properties file, I stopped and disabled the Sage service and rebooted, the card then gets no signal Lock in DVBe4sage whcih can be seen in the attached log, I then added the tuner in sage and scanned the Tuner in Sage, then I removed the source from Sage and went back to DVBe4sage and this time it gets the signal lock but I have the same problem as yesterday it will not record, is this information of any help to diagnose the issue?

I'm not sure if you're trying to view sky encrypted channels or not. If so its best to get it to work with freesat channels first, then add the cam software in after.

I installed this last night but I only have 2 channels set up in Sage at the moment. I had problems initially but that was because I couldn't spell dvbe4sage.ini . That took a long time to notice

My ini file is below - only a slight difference at the start, but it is set up for unencrypted channels as I don't have Sky.

that is wierd. The channels i'm using are E4 (136) and More4 (138) as they're on the same mux and it can record both at the same time.

Try tuning these channels and see if it works. I'll add BBC2 (102) and see if mine works with that channel.

Are you adding the channels too SageTV or am I missing something in DVBE4SAGE?

I use Stephane's importer to map the Radio Times guide data, and in its channel setup tell it to tune to physical channel numbers - such as 136 for E4.

To test now though, and save that work, I went into tuner setup in Sage, selected a DVB Enhancer virtual tuner, channel setup, and added a channel.

The details I said were
Station Name: BBC2
Station ID: BBC2
Logical number: 102
Physical number: 102

After adding it, I tuned to BBC2 in the guide (showing as 'no data' due to no EPG) and set it to record.

I copied the recording to a different PC to play it as I don't have a decoder set up on that box, and it played ok.

I don't understand that.

I initially tried it on Vista last night and had all sorts of graph errors in the logs so I rebuilt using 2003 server and that went smooth as pie.

I am using WHS which I believe is basically 2003 Server under the hood, it should be a very simple process, the tuners worked fine in SageTV , did you just download DVBE4SAGE from the googlecode page, is it V.236?

I copied it from a friend who I was visiting, but have just checked and its the same version. I downloaded and checked all the files and they're identical.

I need another PC and another lnb as mine are all in use right now so I can't do any more checking for a few hours.

It looks like you're using dvbenhancer on its own to test the recording. It should create a ts file in the dvbenhancer folder when you test it like that. Could there be any permissions issues maybe thats stopping it?

Other than that, do you have a different PC you could test it with, just to see if its a problem with the PC itself. I messed about for a good few hours on Vista before biting the bullet and reinstalling.

cpass,

Did you try installing DX9 end user runtime? This might help...

This didn't seem to help, one thing that is puzzling me is when I remove all reference of my tuners from SageTV then run DVBE4SAGE it gets no signal lock, then when I scan the tuner in SageTV and remove the tuner, then go back to DVBE4SAGE it gets a signal lock, how is it interacting with SageTV, are me SageTV settings causing the problem?

Michael, could you send me instructions on what is required to configure this? I'm also a bev user, and would like to dump by dvbdream -> network encoder -> sage setup.

Thanks.

Problems with recordings

Hopefully I can give more information as to what I am doing wrong

I have just installed a fresh WHS Server, with TechnoTrend S3200 TT

What I did

1. Fresh install of WHS
2. Install Drivers including TT-S3200 PCI card
3. Install all updates
4. Install DirectX 9
5. Install DVBE4SAGE from Google Code
6. Create DVBE4SAGE.ini
7. Run DVBE4SAGE.exe

That is all I did, I am sure I have missed a step and that is my problem, I have not installed SageTV at this stage

Just for your info, I had my system working great.

This evening I've added a Nova-t-500, PowerDVD, PowerCinema and VLC.

Somewhere along the lines its stopped working. I've uninstalled everything, including the drivers and its still the same.

The last thing I'll try is removing the nova-t-500. If that doesn't work I'll be reinstalling the OS again.

You may have to do a similar thing
