no, I have it working fine with 6.4.8. You just need an extender license. With 6.5.x, you don't need an extender license. Though I'm planning to upgrade to 6.5.3 later tonight. You should update the firmware on the HD200 though.

Canadian orders

Regarding the comments about orders going to Canada: As several people have noted, tracking/shipment emails are sent out when they are shipped. However, as you also may have gathered, there were a LOT of orders placed within the first 2 days and they are still trying to catch up shipping all those orders. On top of that, it takes longer to set up & send out Canadian shipments via the postal service compared to UPS shipments within the US. Just give it time & your orders will get shipped.

Mine were shipped from LA yesterday at 2:20 pm. Hopefully they make it to Toronto before Santa!

Let's just hope these don't get prorogued by customs.

Mine was shipped at 4:20 PM form LA and is now on its way to Ottawa. The race is on!

I just got a new 52" Sony Bravia and am eager to hook it up to the HD-200.

Ok, so some of the mystery of the release might have been revealed. The firmware update is dated 12/1/08. So, my guess is that they have had the hardware in hand for a while but wanted to solve a firmware problem before shipping them. I didn't see the upgrade notice for the first one I installed and it works fine. I upgraded #2 which took about 10 minutes.

Not exactly "Last years model" as i just purchased my HD100 a few months ago, I would hope Sage doesnt treat them as such either.

Sorry bout that. I wonder how often they updated the 100? Did they ever add features? I'm curious, as what ever they did with the 100 is probably what they will do with these.

HD 200 User Manual?

I thought I read in another thread that there is a User Manual for the new HD 200 but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where to look?

Ordered mine Mon. (12/1) morning and it arrived today (12/5)---AZ--pretty close jaunt from CA.

Randy

EDIT: Just found it!

Got mine just a little bit ago and go it hooked up. So far it seems to be working great. Kids already took it over and are watching one of their shows but they have to go to bed soon and I'll get it back. :<)
