But I'm sure it meant SageTV recordings from tuners when it says major TV networks

... makes it seem that hulu is coming?!? Or maybe just improved online feeds. It seems like a strong statement if referring to the existing online content currently provided.

Hmm. That is interesting. If they are adding any online video from the major TV networks that would be a surprise to me - not a bad surprise mind you, but definitely a very big surprise... They could be stretching there and just point out that CBS has some shows on YouTube though....

If they were mixing online with PVR then they need to re-phrase this :
Quote:
All your favorite online video from YouTube, Google Video and major TV networks on your TV
to say this: "All your favorite online video from YouTube, Google Video and other sources as well as PVR content from major TV networks on your TV"

If there is Hulu or Hulu-like capability why wouldn't they be telling the world about it right now? That would sell these things out faster then the last few times for sure.

license?

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but it doesn't seem to come with an extender license like the HD100s and MediaMVPs did? I didn't get a second email containing one when I ordered mine... Kind of a bummer for people that may not have an extra one to need to buy it separately now.

It doesn't happen to be a big deal for me since I'm replacing an MVP, but that would effectively increase the price of the new HD200 by the cost of an extender license if, in fact, you don't get one now.

Has anyone else received a license? Can someone verify that the extender license is or is not included with the HD200?

-Gary

I got the following in my email:

No license key entry is required on the server with the STP-HD200

Also, they are selling a bundle for a $20 savings still. I doubt the extender license wouldn't be included in that. It better be included because that's what I bought!

Another quick question - will this play Blu-ray files?

Ordered one. Considering another one.

Very happy to have this available!
Very happy indeed. I only bought 1 for now. I would have bought 3 or 4 if those guys at H-------- hadn't turned me off from the idea of buying early generation hardware. Although 2 vD1's work perfectly, I still can't get my vC2 to work correctly - but that's unrelated to this good news.

Anyway I didn't notice anything in the manual about connecting a usb keyboard. Only saw usb storage. Any idea?

I know many of us have been reading two HD200 threads all morning. Can we combine them now or close one of them?

I vote for this one -- and move to the New HD200!?!? thread instead.

Do you know if the HD200 includes a new Sigma Designs chip? I know people have been having problems with very high bitrate H.264 files and that's been attributed to using a lower-end/older Sigma chip. It would be nice to know if the H200 fixes that.
It's a newer/faster chip, but we've not been told what chip it is exactly (though it's not hard to guess it's an 8630). Unfortunately due to me being out of space, I haven't managed to rip any of my BDs and try them.

If the HD100 does it then the HD200 does it.

No extender license needs to be entered on the SageTV server; the STP-HD200 will automatically be recognized as a valid SageTV extender.

There are network shows provided via YouTube channels for various networks and many shows have their own podcasts where you can view episodes.
