Has anyone else noticed the timeline freezing when watching "live" tv? I noticed it with the HD PVR first, and those recordings use the PowerDVD decoders. Last night I saw it when I started watching Burn Notice with the nVidia DualTV, and it uses the nVidia Purevideo decoders.

When I try to fast forward through a commercial after watching a show segment (I usually start watching "live" tv 15 minutes into the show so I can do this), the fast forward initially dumps me back to where the timeline stopped, which happens to be the end of the previous commercial block. I can then fast forward all the way through the actual show and next commercial block to where I was. Rinse and repeat for each commercial block. Once the OSD drops off screen, it seems like the progress no longer moves forward, even though the show is actually playing. Very odd...

I'm sorry. I was thinking of my audio decoder for MPEG playback. AC3Filter is still part of my HDPVR TS playback graph. See attached graphedit. It doesn't seem to show up in the debug log though. Here is my playback log.

I'm using the ArcSoft one. I had AC3Filter working too but there was an ever-so-slight lip syncing problem that I tried to fix and somehow messed up AC3Filter to the point that I was getting no sound at all. Fearing the wrath of the wife I didn't want to take an even longer time trying to fix it. So I tried the ArcSoft and it worked so I was like "if it ain't broke..."

I tried using VMR9 last night and it worked much better than it used to. But after about 10 seconds it would stutter for about 2 seconds then get smooth again. This is with the PowerDVD8 H.264 decoder. But witht he old sage demux VMR9 would just stutter horribly. So whatever the Sage guys are up to, keep it up.

Anyone else try VMR9 with hardware decoding?

ok, looks like you're using the arcsoft audio decoder. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to install the arcsoft package. I have had playback working with arcsoft video/audio decoders, but I am a bit of a minimalist and only want to have the decoders/software I need to enable playback. It's just too bad that I can get the powerdvd audio decoder to work everywhere but in sagetv with the sagetv demux.

This Demuxer seems to break the DVD time line controls (i.e. I can not change the timeline using this filter with DVDs)

I am using Nvidia MPEG-2 codecs.

Anyone else noticed this?

So far so good... I was able to get smooth playback with Cyberlink PDVD8 with h264 in vista, whereas before it was nothing but a jittery mess.

I gave up on Commercial cutting long ago because of the timeline problems... but I'll give a try with this later this week and see how it goes.

It hangs for me. You can get a few minutes into the show, then it hangs. Moved back to the inaccurate, but working demux

It's working for me with Sage 6.4, Powerdvd 7.x Video, and ArcSoft Audio decoder for h264. I had weird results with Haali splitter installed, and trying to use the powerdvd audio decoder resulted in a black screen with audio.

At this point I am very happy. This is the best h264 playback I have been able to achieve to date.

This version was often locking the playback when I would select something from my HVR-1600 S-Video Capture. If I hit the skip back button playback resumes normally. Also didn't seem to be a problem using the ATSC tuner portion of the same HVR-1600.
Back to the old file and the problem goes away again.

This would often hang Sage if I skipped forward or back. I reverted to the original and all is well.

I just noticed that the time bar doesn't advance when watching live tv. The current position indicator is always at the beginning, and if you skip back or forward it does so from the beginning, not end of the recording.

This new demuxer worked wonders on the VBR mpeg2 recordings I convert my HD camera AVCHD files to. MUCH better in Sage!

Thanks!

I am watching the Notre Dame game live about an 40 minutes behind live and seeking is all over the place when fast forwarding through commercials. Has jumped me many minutes off of where I was and let me know the score ahead of time several times already. I guess I'll have to switch back to the other demux for live stuff. It is beta after all

Same happened to me. I switched back to the original and all was well again.

Well I bit the bullet and installed arcsoft. I'm am now successfully playing back video with Powerdvd8 video and arcsoft audio. I am seeing a similar issue to ToxMox where skipping is all over the map while watching an actively recording video.

This demux works great with PDVD8 for video and Arcsoft for audio IF you never seek (ff or rw). Once I try it dies.

Can't wait to have a demux that plays and correctly seeks with PDVD8 video and audio.

Keep up the great work Sage team.

Tried playing back hd-pvr files with arcsoft video and audio decoders. Plays fine but locks up when trying to seek.
