With the new demux, the locked up spinning circle of death is fixed for me. However, I'm having some kind of seeking issue on my PC client while watching a recording in progress or live TV, but not for completed recordings. For example, if I'm 40 minutes into a show that is still currently recording and I click on the timebar to go back a few minutes, the timebar moves to the correct time but the video is actually starting over from the beginning or from near the beginning of the recording. From there clicking the timebar or forwarding or rewinding seems to results in random jumps to various points at or near the beginning of the recording. It doesn't appear to happen with all live TV recordings, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

This is with SageMC STV, VMR9, nVidia Video Decoder, and PDVD8 Audio Decoder. I'll try some more testing with default STV and other decoders and capture some logs. I also noticed some minor intermittent A/V sync issues using the SageTV Video Decoder and AC3Filter Audio Decoder...after a commercial skip it would start out in sync, then drift out of sync slightly, and then drift back into sync.

Funny, that's what was happening to me with the earlier versions. This one seems to fix everything for me.

I take it all back. Same issue here now. I switched to the Microsoft Mpeg decoder (seems to give me the best PQ, especially motion) and I get the same problem.

Switched the MpegDeMux back to the one from 6.4.8 and all is well again.

Im not sure if anyone else had this problem... I havent gone through this whole thread. But, ever since 6.4.8, if I used Cyberlink Audio, sageTV would crash when trying to render the file. The latest demux filter for sageTV fixes the problem.

Ok I just upgraded to 6.5.6 and it seems it did fix my crashing probs on ffwd/rwd, guess the problem was that audio decode fix on the changelog

Finally I can now sit back and enjoy the media I download off the net from the couch

Can somebody post the Demux for Sage 6.4.8? I upgraded from 6.4.8 to 6.5.5 and then the latest demux posted in this thread but I didnt back it 6.4.8 demux. The latest is causing some issues with skipping forward and backward and the video does not start. If I hit stop then play again its fine. Ill try to post a log later tonight.

Thx

Do the settings in

have any affect on your new demux, or are these just remnants from the old demux? I'm trying to resolve an issue I've had for a long time with occasional video stutter. If they do work, are there any theoretical issues with making the BufferSize, BlockSize, or NumBuffers too big? Should BufferSize be evenly divisible by MPEG2PackSeekModulus? What are the optimal values from your testing?

Thanks,
Sean.
I, too, would like to know about this.

Happened to me twice last night on CBS programming.

Also noticed that the audio pops a bit when seeking in this demux.

I don't have a log (logging not activated), but I may go back to the 6.4.8 demux for now as I don't use an HD-PVR.

I did manage to capture logs and submitted them to Qian (donkey) for review. As near as I can tell, for me it happens when I'm watching timeshifted live TV or a recording that is in-progress. If a favorite starts at 6pm and I start watching it from the top at 6:15pm, everything seems to be fine. Then at 6:30pm the next show on that channel starts recording while I'm finishing up watching the last show. When I'm done watching the first show and SageTV switches over to the 6:30pm show, I start to have trouble with the video playback jumping around to the wrong spot when clicking the timebar. I haven't done testing (clicking the timebar) yet while watching the first timeshifted TV show while it is recording and I haven't done any repeatability testing yet to see if I can recreate the problem on command. I'm almost certain it has something to do with live TV recordings and recordings in-progress since that is the only time it has happened and hasn't happened at all with any completed recordings.

This is exactly the problem I have been having. I have a clean 6.5.6 install doing this. Unfortunately, I didn't have logging on when it happened earlier. I will try again later and log it.

I will also tryto replace with the demux from 6.4.8 again and try it.

Qian,

Should these new versions be compatible with 6.4.7?

Thanks,

Anybody else having issues with the 2.0.1.27 mpegdemux.ax that was posted today? On my PC client, I get a 'There was a problem accessing the filesystem for playback' exception error loop. I select a recording to play and instead of playing the recording it appears to try to tune live tv and gets stuck in a playback exception loop. I switch back to the previously posted 2.0.1.24 mpegdemux.ax and the exception goes away. I've already sent off an email and log to Qian. The new mpegdemux has been posted for a few hours with no reports of problems yet...just curious if I'm the only one.

2.0.1.27 works for me. I use HDHomerun for OTA and R5000 modded Dish Vip211s for tuners. What kind of tuners do you guys use that are having problems?
