For multiple extenders connected at the same time, I would consider increasing the max Java heap size on the server. See this post for info on how to do that.

As for DHCP on your network, I think the only way to get windows to act as a DHCP server is to turn on Internet Connection Sharing. This requires two network connections, (presumably, one hooked up to your local network, the other to the internet). I don't believe the internet network actually needs to be hooked up to anything, but it might at least to set things up. Basically, in the properties for the internet connection, click the "Allow other computers to connect to the internet throught this computer" or something like that. This will set up your local connection as a router, with 192.168.0.1, and DHCP out to your extenders.

If you don't have another network to set this up with, you should be able to add a dial-up networking conenction, and share that.

Well, the MS network seems to be working, so I am not sure if I would realize any advantage to setting it up as DHCP at the moment.

I will mess around with the Java heap size and see if that fixes it. I can get any of the extenders working fairly well and doing something like listening to music. Then, if I go turn on either of the other two, the one stops playing music and won't really respond. The one that I just turned on, also doesn't respond very well. To get it working correctly, I restart the Sage GUI on the server and then one will work normally again.

It does sort of sound like it is running out of memory, so hopefully this will fix it. I only have 1 gig of RAM in that server... do I need to put in another stick?

Ok... on vacation for a week.... will try this when I get back and report back.

Ok... just an update here.

I did increase the heap size and that seems to have fixed things up quite a bit. I set it to 512megs, and I haven't had it lock up since. After a couple of days, I have seen it hit 480megs, so my guess is that I might have to even increase it further so I will have to increase my RAM to 2 gigs.

Overall, this couldn't have been much easier and the HD100s are awesome. I think they are a little laggy perhaps when I scroll through my music lists, but nothing unbearable.

thanks for all the input! Time to pull some cable through the walls since it seems to be working.
