the 2 day air option was only $4 more than standard shipping. I almost did it except that I remembered I still need to order a STB from Comcast.

Has anyone tried playing the sample video through the XBOX360 dashboard video player instead of extender?

Also SHS could you please collect a list of questions in forum and get Hauppauge to answer.

Are you all getting a ship date? I can't order one until this evening.

Arghh.......
I'm so jealous of all of you guys. I've been saving for this since Narflex hinted about this, but I've unfortunately had an impromptu trip to San Fran come up. I could see this device fading into the recesses of my financial abyss as I pressed the confirmation button to buy my airline tickets.

This thread is just adding salt to the wound, but somehow I can't stop reading it. I guess I'm jealous and excited for you guys all at once.

Oh well, I suppose I'll be waiting for all of you to work out all the kinks before I buy a Sage branded version...yeah, that's it. I'm waiting for all of you to try it out first.

Please don't forget to post your glorious digital experiences in about a month or so.

Well from one admirer of Nikola to another, at least enjoy your SF trip and have some garlicky goodness @ The Stinking Rose

Besides, we'll beta test it for you

Thanks Dagar for reminding me why I enjoy the West Coast so much.
I love the Garlic Chicken at The Stinking Rose.

And you're right, I'll just let all of you go through those pesky beta hurdles. Of course, those can be frustratingly fun too. Enjoy 'em.

I always wondered whether Tesla would be a Sage fanatic if he were around today. I think he would.

Does anyone know if usb 2.0 is required or not. It did not state in the requirements. I would need to get an add in card for usb 2.0.
Considering the dual-core "requirements", I would think that any PC with USB 1.x would not be sufficient anyway.

Ack!

I've been refreshing the Hauppauge product page all day and just didn't see that tiny little "Buy Now" button on there! C'mon Hauppauge, how about a big PREORDER NOW text and button!

Good thing I eventually checked back on this thread. Two hours into preorder, hopefully they have lots and I get into the first batch.

Agree with prior posts, no way they've sold 33k so far.

Hope to see this sucker at my doorstep on May 3. If it doesn't meet expectations (e.g. HDHomerun) there's always Ebay for a nominal loss.

My order is 33804 at 2:45 edt, so again I doubt they've sold 33k in two hours of preorder

My educated guess is that recording with this won't require a Dual core CPU. It is just sending commands and storing the streamed file on the HDD. The Ambarella chip will do the encoding.

Decoding of a 1080i H.264 is what needs Dual core CPU. Playback of a 1080i H.264 file will require substantial resources.

My guess is the domestic and international systems use different systems.
morikaweb is your order in domestic US?
